- Microsoft & Email Issues
It seems that Microsoft in their never-ending retardation have
blacklisted my server IP, so any communications to a M$ controlled
account (hotmail, MSN, live, and outlook) from Badcaps.net will go unanswered. I've attempted to get the IP
delisted, but dealing with M$ is worse than dealing with a
government bureaucracy...their delist submission form crashes and
the one time I actually got it to submit, I've never received the
verification email from them in order to remove my server IP from
their 'list'. Sorry for any inconvenience, but if
you need to register for the forum or request repair service, don't
use your M$ account.
Just informing everyone that I no longer have 3300uF 6.3v caps
available to me from sources I trust....but I am looking. In
the mean time, any kit ordered that contains 3300uF 6.3v caps will
be substituted with 2200uF 6.3v. This will pose no issues.
Back in April 2002, I had an idea to start a business (actually
spinoff of another business) servicing motherboards at
component level amid the mass capacitor failures plaguing the PC
industry. Fifteen years later, the sun is setting on this crazy
little niche that I did very well with... To get 15 years from
one little niche in tech is absolutely unheard of, and was a hell of a good run!! The store
boomed from its launch all the way up until about a year ago.
Over the last 6 months or so, I have sold very few capacitors. Once my stock depletes, I will
be shutting down the Badcaps.net store. I have no estimated
date for this, but I don't foresee it happening this year...
However; if you need caps, you might get your order in sooner
than later! If I run out of a value, I will not be restocking
them.
The
store was launched in 2007 and had a great long run...but like every
business, it has a lifespan, and its time is up. If you
are in need of repair service, nothing will change on that front, Badcaps.net isn't going anywhere
when it comes to offering repair services.
FEAR NOT, I have NO PLANS to stop taking in repair work!! I
will continue to accept motherboard repairs indefinitely.
I have allocated a specific portion of my capacitor inventory for
repairs only, which won't be available in the store. I still
get a bit of repair work from old preferred clients along with new
clients as well.
That said, I no longer work Badcaps.net on a full-time basis and
have moved onto some other interests & pursuits. Repair ETA's
are still as advertized though, no worries! :)

BADCAPS.NET is cleaning out the attic!!
The Badcaps.net 'rummage sale' has been quite successful, most of it is gone from this round. I have more that I am preparing to add to the site, so keep checking back! I also have a bunch of IT Grade network stuff to add as well. This is your chance to get some insanely awesome buys on used but working hardware I have on hand. This hardware consists of unclaimed repairs that have been here over a year, hardware I've taken on trade, and hardware that has been in "goodie boxes" over the years. Every piece for sale has been tested and/or reworked/recapped, then cleaned, and is in perfect working condition. The garbage and non-functional stuff has since been sent to the recyclers. You may view my hardware for sale HERE. The list of hardware will be progressively added to, so always check back! |
Badcaps.net has EXPRESS SERVICE Available!!
Have an emergency repair??? Don't want to wait for the Standard Service? Click
HERE for details on Badcaps.net's new Express Repair Service! The average turnaround time for Standard Repair Service is roughly 10-15 days in my shop (weekends excluded). My new Express Repair Service reduces the turnaround time to no more than 4 days in my shop (weekends excluded)!! Express Repair Service is an additional $25.00 per board, and is completely optional. I also wanted to take a second to mention that I DO NOT
service television boards. The good folks over at
shopjimmy.com and a few other parts houses have referred a lot of
people to me seeking repair of their defective television boards.
I do not accept these for repair! The reason is that I can not
test them....and I am not the kind of technician that will service a
device, and then return it to the customer untested and hope it
works. That is a recipe for disaster, and I just can't do
it...sorry. I would service a television if the entire set
were sent, but that's hardly cost-effective, so I just felt it best
to stay out of the online television repair business.
