Re: mec 16xx dump with info block
@spider300
The first time we did one had a similar problem, then I suggested my friend to completely disconnect all source of energy for 1-2 minutes, after that the Supervisor Password was gone, may have been a coincidence or not, but that made a difference at the time.
What's the ThinkPad model number and EC/KBC programmer you are using?Comment

Re: mec 16xx dump with info block
I have a Lenovo T14 I need to remove Bios password.
I have the RT809H Programmer, I connected wires to JTAG but cannot read chip (MEC-1663).
Iv attached diagram of how its wired up.
I used diagram from another T14 model but the board is slightly different i cant find a diagram for my exact board.
Did I wire this right?
Does CLK go to TCK jtag point?
Someone said I need 10K pull up resistor, what points do i connect that to?
I don't see the missing resistor other point to my boards a bit different.
I know you cant edit out the password but if you re-flash the dump it clears iv been told. (rt809h + read MEC1663 + write MEC1663) then you use the maintenance tool to restore serial etc.Comment

Re: mec 16xx dump with info block
I have tried:
With and without 10k resistors on Jtag Pads 1-4
Pad 6 rst seems to be 3.3v but only has 3.3v when I put the missing resistor for that pad.
Iv tried with battery/charger connected.
But still I get error can't detect a chip model 0xFFFFFFFFF
Iv seen some can't be read and you simply get a donor EC file to simply wipe and write it back to the chip. But the chip would at least be detected and just fail reading correct?
Next step would be using the keyboard header points they have 10k resistors inline on the board.Comment

Re: mec 16xx dump with info block
Now while that was an issue, Iv fixed that but I still can’t get a read.
Are the pads wrong?
As I traced them back to the board.
Or should I be using the built in isp port and connecting Tx/RX?Last edited by coolshrimp; 10-23-2022, 03:28 AM.Comment

Re: mec 16xx dump with info block
From board view the white line it connects to a pad (1) and a resistor(circled in yellow) the connected pad (1) goes no where looks like a test point, the resistor is missing putting in the resistor gets 3.3v to the pad. and is connected to #RESET 3.3v line.
Also every other pad connects directly under the MEC chip, only that pad (6) has an inline resistor (the missing one) on its way to the MEC.
That’s prob why 10k resistors are recommended on the pads 1-4 but I seen 2 others say they’re not needed.Last edited by coolshrimp; 10-23-2022, 04:30 AM.Comment

by Habble7The Samsung S49CG934SU monitor does not power on - no LED indicator activity and no response to power button. However, when 21V power is connected, it immediately draws 0.8A of current with no display output. The motherboard processor gets warm, and there is continuous reading activity from the W25Q128BV BIOS chip.
Suspected Cause:
I suspect the BIOS may have been corrupted during a power interruption while updating the firmware. The official website provides firmware updates, but they can only be installed via USB flash drive.

by MephysisHello guys i really need help, i recently updated my DS-7208HGHI-K1 and it somehow got bricked, I've got it up and working now by flashing a new dump file i found but the serial number is really wrong and the uploader of the dump file probably intentionally did it.
I still have the bricked dump file is it possible to transfer the serial number of the "bricked dump" to the "working dump"? -
by Andreas_deHello!
i got a damaged Manson NTP-5561 (60V, 1,6A DC output) and and the main issue is that the controler IC for the LCD display has a short. The controler IC PIC18F87K90 is mounted on the back of the back of the LCD. Vss-Vdd = 3 Ohm. The 5V and 3,3V power line was killed as well, but that is not a problem. A new LDO 3,3V and 5V 7805 is already ordered.
Replacing the PIC18F87K90 is necessary but that makes no sense without having the HEX dump of the new controler.
Does anybody have such a power supply and could do a HEX dump of the Flash and EEPROM memory?

by re-atariHello all, as the title says, I'm very much in need of a valid firmware dump of a Anycubic Photon 5.5 3D resin printer. It's stored in a Winbond 25Q32, so it's 4Mbyte.
Here's a little background for my request. A few weeks ago I bought this 3D printer from a guy who had moved on to a PLA printer. I got it at a vey reasonable price, as it was in a defective state. The seller told me that he had experienced a power failure during a firmware upgrade, after which the printer appeared to be dead. He thought the firmware was corrupted in such a way that the printer was now bricked. As he... -
by Buzzfuzz2kHi Everyone,
I'm facing a problem with a locked bios with a password and i can't find how to remove it...
The small computer is only booting on a M2 ssd Windows partition and i get a "signed partition error" if i try to boot on the same SSD with another Os (linux for example).
