if the PC freezes with an increase in consumption, it's Espi and it doesn't work.
if it continues after the shunt with errors or still with password it may be LPC, I don't know this model

              Hey Guys,

newb in the land of lenovo bios hacking here...I see x1-carbon-gen9 mentioned earlier on the thread here, but not 100% sure if this method should work on gen9 also(?)...any friendly soul could advise some newb-ish-grade steps to follow? I need to remove supervisor password. Thanks in advance!

no worries at all, sorry for misunderstanding. thought was rather around 3rd parties from romania/algieria etc discussed here somewhere on threads.anyway eot to this, np..current state for gen9, i.e replacement of the (not new but "previously used) mec1503 is "a bit harsh", lol. keep up good work gents, there seem to be quite of a few of us cheering for your efforts! if you need anything tested, happy to help, my carbon is catching dust anyway atm.

At the moment there is no remote solution, its mail in only, the people have been mentioned in this thread that may offer this service.
there is talk of a software flashing soltuion, but it will be expensive and not viable for a singular machine, thats where we are...

Why don't you post the serial number and a main bios backup content in a dedicated thread for T14 ?
...and then maybe we can help...

You need to change the serial with programmer in EC
Kill the state in yourself and you will be free like a wind...

What is the Lenovo utility for in this case?
If there is no BIOS password, it has access to change the serial number!
And it won't disable absolute because it's still active in bios?

Where can I get a valid serial number for this case?
