I disconnected the X/Z and Y board and the power supply was still on. 3 blinking red lights and the constant red light on the board.

OK so the power supply went into shutdown state again?

This could be a control board issue possibly.

Disconnect cable.from power supply to control board. This is a board with the red flashing lights on it. And then power up

Yes it went into shut down state.

I then disconnected the control board and now the front panel light is constant red.

The control board is the one in the picture here, correct?

Yes however I'm not sure if that's going to Tell what's going on now that I think about it. I don't think the TV can achieve turn on command with that board disconnected.

I know that Pioneer is very tempermental with voltages and shutdowns.

Wondering the power supply lost a voltage. The only way to tell would be to measure voltages when you can

Do I plug everything back in before I test the voltage?

1st do the voltage test with nothing plugged in and then write down your finding then plug everything in 1 by 1 do your voltage test again in write down the finding.

Please look at the picture of the full opened back and circle the pins I need to probe. That will help a lot.

, I don't have a computer where I can circle at the moment however you could probe P4 connector on power supply pin labebeled VSUS

This pin should have somewhere around 150 to 200 V DC it will be quick but you should see the voltage come up before the shutdown. What I would like to see is the voltage there as you plug in both x and y one at a time. You can reconnect the control board now before the test.

Also on the scan drive boards or known as the buffer boards you see the square style ICs all in line? Do any of them look burned or hole blown through?

This is what i plan to do. Plug in the control board. Leave the x and y boards unconnected and then test the p4 connector. Is that right? Then connect the y board and test again? Then connect the x board and test again?

Not sure if this will be done tonight but will try.

I would be really helpful if you could circle the pins I need to test and what setting on my voltmeter should be again....

Thats correct. Ill get a picture to yiu but you will need to get me a picture of P4 connector. Pin labeled VSUS on that connector is where you will place the red probe. Black probe to chassis ground and 400vdc setting on volt meter. This is the sectioin where it has one solid line and one dotted line on the voltmeter

Here are the pictures of the connectors. The one with the drawn circles are on the power supply board. P3 goes to the Y board. P4 goes to the X board. The other picture is the connector on the Y board that goes to the P3 connector on the power supply board.

                              Good picture of that connector.

From the bottom you have SUSGND. 4th pin up from that is VSUS. This is the pin you are going to put the red probe on.

Don't worry about putting a probe on the wrong pin if by accident, youre not going to hurt anything. With the probe stuck into the pin and holding it there and the black probe on anywhere chassis ground, And you are voltmeter set to DC like I explained before , quickly watch the Volt meter screen and tell me what voltage you see.

Repeat this after you connect the x board up and then after you connect the Y board back up.

See if the voltage stays the same after every reconnection.

When you connect these boards 1 by 1 make sure the TV is unplug and you let it sit for at least 5 minutes before connecting each board up as there will be residual held voltage in the power supply that needs to drain off or the connector will arc.

The reason we are doing this is because I am looking for a severe drop of this VSUS voltage within either the X or the Y board when connected in circuit. This will determine which board is causing the issue and if it is within the Y board it may be a shorted buffer board.

                                      I did the testing.

Y connector not connected - 220 or so then once it shut off went to 15
Y connector connected - 220 or so then down to 15
X connector connected - 220 or so then down to 15

Ok at this stage I am going to assume that your power supply is putting out good voltages and your sustain boards are free of shorts. We need to look at the scan boards (buffer boards). There are two of them. Upper and lower. On this board near the connector that goes to it, there is a test pad labeled VH.

Test this with your voltmeter same way you did the test with VSUS, except red lead on VH instead.

Do this with both upper and lower.

You would need to check VH to the floating-ground output and it should be roughly 150V

I am trying to fix a samsung washinmachine power supply main board.
I already replaced it with another one to fix the machine but i want to try understand the issue with the old board.
Therefore i hope to be able to get some help to explain what to check in order to troubleshoot.

I was given this TV from my great uncle. He said it just wouldn't turn on one day out of nowhere, replaced the TV, and gave it to me to possibly fix and use for myself.

Upon bringing it home and plugging it up, it showed a standby light.

I powered it on and without a flashlight, the display showed the "V" but the lighting is very dim, but visible.

The screen seems to blackout and stay black, but with a flashlight I can see the display.

With my Playstation 4 connected via HDMI, and running a game I can hear sound.

                                            Assuming...

I have a floodlight-security camera that recently died on me.

its hardwired to 115v po115v outlet. One evening it simply died. After some troubleshooting (ensuring it had power and ensuring the electronics were actually functional by supplying 5v via usb port) i realized the power supply must be the issue. The supply was noticably warm to the touch even though it was not powering anything.

Trying to understand what i was up against i went looking for others with similar issues and anyone who might have attempted a repair. While a few ppl have had the...

I have a vintage 2008 Samsung 50” Plasma TV, Model code PN50A550S1FXZA with a power supply part number BN44-00222A. I repaired the power supply board several years ago finding a couple of cold solder joints on the back side of the board and it's worked great up until now. Recently a fried sound occurred with the smell of burnt electronics and the TV shut down. Trying to turn it back on yielded the typical relay clicking with no TV boot up. Upon investigation, removing feeds to the other boards within the TV it was found that disconnecting the logic board from the power supply allowed the...
