Wanted to provide an update. Looking closely around transformer TX801, I found some scorch marks near CS810 and RX807. Pulling those components off the board and testing each, both appear to be Ok. RX807 is a 40 miliohm current sensing resistor. I did see some melting on the plastic case of CS810 but it measured ok at 47nfds. That area is in very close proximity to one of the primary side terminals of transformer TX801. Measuring across the primary terminals of the transformer it is showing short. I would think there should be some very low resistance there from the transformer windings. TX801...

Samsung Plasma TV Power Supply Issue
I have a vintage 2008 Samsung 50” Plasma TV, Model code PN50A550S1FXZA with a power supply part number BN44-00222A. I repaired the power supply board several years ago finding a couple of cold solder joints on the back side of the board and it's worked great up until now. Recently a fried sound occurred with the smell of burnt electronics and the TV shut down. Trying to turn it back on yielded the typical relay clicking with no TV boot up. Upon investigation, removing feeds to the other boards within the TV it was found that disconnecting the logic board from the power supply allowed the...

Re: Samsung PN50A510 P3FXZA Plasma Cycling On/Off
I found this forum while looking for fixes for my Samsung PN50A550. Same problem as described by others. TV goes into a clicking mode with no picture or sound. I wanted to share my final fix for this.
As suggested in this forum, I replaced C102 and C131. Both of the original caps ended up checking out OK once I measured them out of circuit. No luck with this fix for me.
As I was observing the set powered up with the back off, I isolated the relays that were clicking to two on the power supply board....
