It's not difficult if you go slow enough. If you get impatient the screen will go crack. Try and find a video for this TV. Make sure you replace grounding tape, and make sure you have a plan on how you plan to remove the screen, suction cups or lifting straight up etc. I use double suction cups, one for each hand from harbor freight for $8 a piece and makes it quite easy. I use masking tape to hold the buffer boards to screen.Comment

I have a better idea. Send it to me, I'll repair it and sell it back to you for a huge profit😁
I jest. If this is the first time attempting anything like this it would be much much easier if you can get a friend round to help. It’s so much easier. An extra set of eyes/hands. You can exchange ideas with each other about how to unclip and remove things, move the screen, be extra careful with the delicate bits. You also have the reassurance that you’re both happy this bit went there or here.
Good luck! 🤞🏻Last edited by Donny2derby; 03-22-2024, 11:39 PM.Comment

Nothings Impossible, but you need to make plan first and as other said patient.
Plan first where you can hold the LCD Panel after you take it out for long time until you finish the repair..
second right now you can disconnect the 4 ribbon cable from T-CON to panel from T-CON side.( be careful the ribbon old the contact pins easily damaged ) then turn on.... you will see the LED BL come on. this mean after you took the panel out you can always switch the TV ON and check if yours work on BL are correct and all lit on.
third after you take out the panel.... try to take all light filters sheets at once and keep them tight in same order and remark the top one corner to let you easy put them back at same place and order after you finishing the work.
fourth , the solid reflector plate ( which are the bottom ) in some Sony Model they use 2 pieces clued with transparent Type. be cardull when you handle it and mark its position as it could had different surface as top and down.
that's all..
later 2016 Sony used double LED for edge, also after you have access to LEDs here allot of people will help you to know the kind / Type of the LEDs you have... on Aliexpress you can buy 100 pieces just for 5-6 $, so you can change all at once or if you find strips ready mounted will be better..

Ok guys, you convinced me. I will do it. I will ask a few questions and I am counting on your assistance. But before I order suction cups and LED strip etc. I wanna show you what my TV looked like before the latest issue started. Because it wasn't perfect... Please take a look at the pics. I found these on my phone. They are pretty recent. As you can see there are two lines present:
1) a mostly green horizonal line that covers the entire screen from left to right smack in the middle. (sometimes reddish, sometimes black/grey thin line).
2) a blue vertical line at the left side of the screen that starts from the middle and goes up.
Also I think I made a mistake yesterday. I disconnected a cable from the T-CON board. I think Diah that's exactly the cable you were talking about in your latest post. I put it back in but I have a lot more vertical lines now on my TV. I took a new photo of the i-Manual because there it's obvious how my TV now looksThat's the last pic.
After seeing these pics would you still advise me to go ahead and change the backlights?3 PhotosComment

Definitely do not change them now. Those lines aren't generally reversible.
Tv is now toast. Appears you have shorted the panel somehow. If you plug tv in with one of ribbon cables disconnected and the contacts touch ground, could of messed something upComment

Reading all the thread is quite hard but, i would warn you that these types of led drivers are not so easy to understand, these are called local dimming, in an e-manual maybe local dimming is disabled and all led sectors acts uniformely, there is even an embedded software for driving leds on the basis of different images, a bad software can drive some leds over voltage and the voltage protection cuts off all.. my advice is to first search a decently cheap led board, and try, if it dont work you can get the risk of handling so an heavy beast, plus, since leds are not faced directly to the led booster, them are protected respect convetional lcd tv. at my post #49 i warmed you when disconnect the 4 ribbon (( ( be careful the ribbon old the contact pins easily damaged ))
now they are bot damage but some how lost connection.. take them out and clean them as well the sockets at both side Panel and T-CON then put them back carefully.. hope you have clean picture.Comment

The last picture of the i-Manual however is the new issue. I took off the flat ribbon cable (I think) and plugged it back in and all of a sudden I have this mess. The lines only appear at the top half of the tv btw. Everything below is OK. (pic 3)
I really don't know how I could have been more careful while disconnecting it Diah
The cable is not very hard and easy to bend. So I'm SHOCKED if this lead to a permanent damage. Would exchanging the cable not fix the issue? I attached a pic of the flat ribbon cable in question.
I just disconnected it and tried to clean it but it looks all good to be. And there is not really space to clean it. Is that even the cable you were talking about? I smoothed it out a bit with my hand plugged it back in. It didn't get any better. Permanent damage then?1 PhotoComment

I don't know how can the two crossed lines appear and disappear, the fact is that in the point them meets there is a short, more likely a crack or pressure damage and that is not fixable, each pixel has 1/2 mosfet, normally the gate is insulated from the DS channel, if the gate signal (-6/27v) shorts to Source value (0-15v) or the vcom (7v), it can result in unbalance that can disturb the normal gate drivers scan and job, so i mean that you by moving, touching, pressing that faulty dot, you worsen the situation.. what you can do is to try massaging that dot with a sphere pen tip, hoping the short frees, or there are short killing electrical techniques, don't ask me how.. its long to tell..Last edited by Davi.p; 03-24-2024, 07:39 AM.Comment

the green horizontal line appeared long before the blue vertical line. About 8 months later. The lines may not completely disappear, but they were very thin and almost invisible most of the time. Then they came back - depending on the colour output of the TV. That all happened while the TV was on the wall. I never touched it for more than a decade!Comment

by maudaI'm currently working on repairing a malfunctioning Sony TV model KD-65XE7005 with the mainboard 1-981-926-21. I would appreciate your assistance with this issue.
Upon powering on the TV, the Sony logo appears for approximately 3 seconds, after which the backlight remains lit, the screen remains black, and nothing else happens. The TV consumes around 55W initially and then drops to 35W. The indicator LED remains solid white. It doesn't respond to the remote control. When attempting to update the TV using a USB dongle, the dongle briefly flashes but nothing else happens.

by chaos-theoryI have a really weird problem, this motherboard was working normally, someday it just started and all fans were running but didn't want to post, tried resetting bios, checking CPU and it was getting warm tried external gpu, flashed bios with programmer, but same problem.
Next day after several attempts the board goes into protection mode, no more staying on, I turn on the PSU fans starts directly turning, it used to not start until I press the pwr button, now it starts directly and fans spins, and shuts off after 3 seconds sometimes less, then won't start again unless I unplug the PSU and... -
by solveit68Hello together,
I am hoping for some tips here to repair a notebook.
The notebook has following issue:
After starting the notebook it shut down after a few seconds.
Sometimes it is possible to enter the bios but then after, another few seconds it shuts down also.
The time until shutdown varies slightly.
What I've tried so far:
- cmos cleared
- removed all components that are not essential for motherboard testing including keyboard and touchpad
- ram exchanged
- same behaviour with power supply or battery... -
by doejohn11Hello guys. I have a legion 5 17ach6h with Ryzen 7 5600h and RTX3060.
It was working perfectly fine but the cpu was overheating so i decided to replace thermal paste. I bought one from local hardware store and replcaed. it looked fine then the fan started to spin at the full speed after about 1 minute and then immediately shut off after 10 seconds. Then I though if i have done something wrong, so i cleaned up everything with IPA and put new thermal paste. but the issue was still there. After that, I came across this article where he had similar issue and he was able to solve it by replacing... -
by IamPriteshSo I have this Sony VJF152C11N ( Board Number : DA0HKDMB6D0 ) which came to me with no charging issue. The Charging IC was getting hot so replaced it.
ISL88732 replaced with ISL88731 and also the lower mosfet PQ59 ( NTTFS4C10NTAG ) with a similar N channel mosfet. Now the Charging is fine with 15.7 on BAT+ line but the new problem is that laptop boots till sony logo and then shuts down when battery is connected ( With or without AC adapter )
What could be causing this is a non compatible IC or FET or poor soldering or some kind of shorting? - Loading...
