I have an asrock z97x with the same symptoms, especially when cold, it doesn't post, sometimes it posts then shuts down then restarts, I keep playing around with flashing bios and checking voltage, I still couldn't find the missing voltage, I checked most voltages and they are normal, this is your next step, check all the rails and voltages with a multimeter, there are posts here about that, there is also a post I made check it, download a boardview and start checking.
For me, I don't know what's my next step, but when mine starts it works the whole day without a problem, I even tried stress...

Update : after reflashing the bios and struggling for a week I managed to switch software and reflash the bios, the motherboard worked all day then suddenly cut off and restarted, did it 3 times in a day, the last time it didn't want to post again... When I flash the bios and plug it in the motherboard, turn it on for a bit I get 6 long beeps, then when I put it again on the reader and compare with the downloaded bios files, I find many differences, is it the motherboard changing settings on the bios file? To accommodate the boot process and devices? Or is it getting corrupt, I am using the latest...

Hello! Update, no one commented on my post and I am panicking!
I checked most voltage rails, and I bought 4 5th gen CPUs just in case, but the problem is still there, I noticed that the pwm driver is getting too hot, like it burns you when you touch it, check the image below, the CPU is getting warm the PCH too.
One thing to mention, there is a sharp sign # next to the pins I tested, are they supposed to be low to be active? Because most people troubleshooting online check for voltage, they don't check for 0 volt to know they are Active can someone elaborate more....

I didn't check if it's the same rev as mine but THANK YOU INFINITELY, you are amazing, it doesn't exist anywhere, it's very rare, this is the best thing that has happened to me all week!

Asrock z97x starts then shuts off after 4 seconds, sometimes more, no post
I have a really weird problem, this motherboard was working normally, someday it just started and all fans were running but didn't want to post, tried resetting bios, checking CPU and it was getting warm tried external gpu, flashed bios with programmer, but same problem.
Next day after several attempts the board goes into protection mode, no more staying on, I turn on the PSU fans starts directly turning, it used to not start until I press the pwr button, now it starts directly and fans spins, and shuts off after 3 seconds sometimes less, then won't start again unless I unplug the PSU and...

Nitro rx580 very weird problem, VCORE and EN
Hello!
I have this very weird problem, I got this rx580 nitro saphire and the fans don't even spin but the saphire logo is lit.
All voltage rails are present except for VCORE at the coils, then I started checking NCP81022 and it has voltage but vdd pwrgd is missing, enable EN is missing it shows 2.5ohm, everything seems fine, i tried checking the back of the card, to see where the enable pin goes, i dont have a schematic so i started touching randomly until i measured a resistor on the back and the fans started spinning, now I was amazed like what is wrong here? So I thought it's a...

What should I do then? should I create a new topic for troubleshooting, I have no VRM voltage, I hope someone sends me the boardview here it's on VINFIX...

I did search all over the internet, I need the boardview for the Nitro Saphire card, not the MSi or Asus, thank you #!...

Have you tampered with the bios or someone else did? How credible is this information?
Have you done a tserver test on the vrams? (Search in the forum or YouTube on how to")

How do you know that you have a problem with the BIOS?
What brand and model do you have?

Z97x MSI killer fatality bios size mismatch?
Hello! I am using ch341A to flash a dual bios motherboard oard, and the board is written exactly z97x not Z97 only!
But when I try to flash the official bios for the z97x I get a size mismatch, but when I try to flash the normal Z97 it works normally and posts.
Is something wrong here? Normally I should use the z97x bios not the Z97 one!
By the way does this board has onboard LED lights like around the pure sound chip and all just for esthetics

PCI_a11 3.40v
Pci_a13 0.43v
Pci_a14 0.39v
UP*_ph1 9.78v
Vccst_pwrgd 1.08v
Vin0 0.96v
Vin8 0.89v
I don't really have an oscilloscope to test the bios, is there an alternative here?
I totally don't understand how can everything be present and the card not posting, maybe I need a newer diagnostic card the one I have is too old, what should I do next?

Those are the closest pins I found related to what you asked for :
Vccio_out 1.0v
Vccio2pch 1.05v
VCcioA 0.99v
Vtt_ddr 0.75v on all slots
Vcc_ddr 1.5v on all slots
PCI smclk 3.5v
PCI vcc 12v
PCI +3.3v 3.3v
What to check next I don't have an oscilloscope so I can't check for clocks, what do you think could be the problem?

MSI G55 Z97 sli no post but everything good
Hello people, I have an MSI G55 Z97 and everything spins there is vcore and the CPU gets warm there is 3.3v to most bios pins including CS# now CS# is active low so I don't think the chip is selected until it gets grounded, and I checked

VRM_PGD 3.3v
DPWROK and its 3.3v
H_PWRGD which I don't know what it means but has 3.3v
PLRST# and it has 3.3v but i dont know if it should be grounded or not
RSMRST# which gives 3.3v
DDR3_DRAMRST# and it gives 1.45v
PCH is getting warm slow just as the CPU, I connected a speaker but I don't hear any beeps even with the ram disconnected,...

You are totally right sir! I realised the plt rst signal is high so there is a problem somewhere, there is a qfn and some resistors near bios that are none existing in my motherboard but they are in the boardview you sent me, one of them is connected to CS chip select pin of the bios maybe it's somehow a dual bios version, and some resistors missing here and there is it due to my motherboard being another version?
