Re: HP 840 G7 Admin Password and Swat lock please
try it dude i'm not sure if my 32mb modification would work i just copy paste binary from files i compared. but the 16mb would work fine in bios password.
flash both files and in first boot press f10 then disable absolute in bios security. then reformat, then use MPM tool just search here in forum.Attached Filesif you find these attachements useful please consider making a small donation to the site

Re: HP 840 G7 password
Hello, can somebody tell me which one of these 2 chips should I read for BIOS password by RCunlocker?
I have read the 32MB chip without desoldering, but these 2 can not read without desoldering so I don't want to desolder both and then trying which one is exact
Thanks in advanceAttached Filesif you find these attachements useful please consider making a small donation to the site

Re: HP 840 G7 password
Hello all,
Having trouble resetting this bios password. I used the flash utility. The 16MB says it flashed but when I tried the 32MB it says to revert back to flashing with the 16MB.
Unfortunately, the bios password is still locked, even though it says the 16MB worked. I just dragged the .bin file into the utility, then restarted the laptop.
Here's the laptop's info:
SKU Number: 1C8P3UT#ABA
UUID: 9B385AC018701FE17EEECC8450FF9475
UUID (standard format): C05A389B-7018-E11F-7EEE-CC8450FF9475
Asset Tracking Number: 5CG0292MKL
Feature Byte: 3X476J6S6b7B7H7M7Q7W7m7saBapaqauawb8bUbhcAdUdpdqfAfPgSguhKjhk8mE.HM
System Board ID: 8723
System Board CT Number: PJRZQ00WBDY6RA
Any help would be greatly appreciated! Thanks in advance!Comment

Re: HP 840 G7 password
I looked through the beginner's guide on here but didn't see how to extract the bios from the laptop to upload it. Can you point me in the right direction? Sorry man, I'm a total noob at this.
I also forgot to include the motherboard model number. Pictures are attached.Attached Filesif you find these attachements useful please consider making a small donation to the site

Re: HP 840 G7 password
Thank you Vesko. I've attached the .bin file. That's the 16MB, as I was unable to extract the 32MB (not sure if it even has one?).Attached Filesif you find these attachements useful please consider making a small donation to the site

Hi, can you help me remove the administrative password on Elitebook 830 G7 ?
I watched a video and the person in the video said Winbond 25Q128JVPQ chip contains the lock. Leave the other chip alone.

Re: HP 840 G7 password
There's no admin password set in the attached main bios dump, it is your original backup or not?
What's the laptop serial number, is it 5CG0466LL9?
Upload a screenshot of the password prompt screen.

by zeniusHello, I have an old Dell G3 3579 (ST: 2WQ7LP2-8FC8) with a newer 8FC8 BIOS password. I have successfully attached to the flash chip (W25Q128JVSQ) on the motherboard with a CH341A programmer and made several modifications using Intel FIT (e.g., allow software SPI write) without bricking. I was also able to boot to a modified GRUB shell where I attempted to edit many BIOS security related options like BIOS Guard/Lock, Flash Signature Override, ME FW Image Re-Flash, etc.
Unfortunately, some of these modifications like to Intel BIOS Guard failed because it is fused into the PCH. Also,...-

by m1ch43lzmHi everyone
I noticed on the Xgpro software the BIOS backup files have extra bytes at the end when reading some chips, this is because the Xgpro software also reads the OTP region of those flash chips, and by default will append that region to the saved file
Programmer models: XGecu TL866II Plus / T48 / T56 / T76
Example: GD25LQ128D (1.8V), IC size is listed as 0x1000000 Bytes (16777216 bytes) + 0xC00 bytes, those extra 0xC00 bytes will be appended to the end of the saved file by default, resulting in a file size of 16780288 bytes
There's also an extra OTP Secu.R...-

by NopslideHello everyone, I come here to tell you my problem regarding the power-on password. It is not a bios reset demand, and i can't have any access to windows. This is the bios and power-on password that is blocking all other things.
My Omen 15-dh0052nf purchased second-hand was configured with the bios password upon purchase (very simple password :P ).
Having decided to sell it in order to get something more powerful, I reset all BIOS settings and set a blank administrator password. But the power-on password cannot be changed to a blank one so I let the actual password set....-
