I desoldered a chip which is under the battery for my suddenly dead Inspiron model as in the thread, but it seems that it is just a 16MB chip. Does this work or I must find and read the 32MB chip?
I have uploaded it if somebody could fix it by 16MB chip here uploaded
Thanks...Leave a comment:

Yes done now, I compare the start and the end and of these files that I am extracting from Lenovo .FD file and the dumps from the laptop and they are so identical, I just need to insert DMI infos to the 16MB file and try burning the file to the chip afterwards

Thanks so much wizard. Seems I am so near in my making my first BIOS extracted from a hidden Lenovo .EXE.
From the screenshot uploaded on Imgur seems everything is OK?
So when I create these 2 new files then I need to also take the DMI infos from the DUMP of my laptop and write only to the 16MB file at addresses:
DMI 42000 - 43FFF
and write that file to the chip?
do I need to make any modification to the 8MB BIOS or write it as such Virgin as extracted from Lenovo .FD file, or it can be bypassed fully and not written at all?...Leave a comment:

Maybe the packer of my BIOS for Lenovo V15 G3 IAP is different (not TDK) because when I unpacked it I am just getting .FD file which is 24 MB in size. After unpacking .FD file further with CLI extractor I got a bunch of files and folders like:
0 Descriptor region,
1 Padding,
2 Boot partition ,
3 Data partition,
4 Boot partition and inside those folders there are a plenty of small body.bin files. So I am not getting only one .BIN file which should be 16MB in size to further flash it via RT809, all those files and folders properties are less than 10 MBLeave a comment:

Got the DMI infos as you propose on other thread with Hxd from my DUMP backup attached here in the thread, and Paste Wrote with HxD at the exact addresses (DMI 42000 - 43FFF) on the 16MB file that you shared, and wrote the full file with RT809 but again the same the laptop doesn't power ON
My laptop infos are :
Serial PF4A83NG
Model Name V15 G3 IAP
MTM: 82TT00A5RM
MO: PF9XB3512123...Leave a comment:

As I wrote this 16MB file and it did not work, now I notice that there is a fresh new BIOS uploaded on Lenovo site, but I am unable to extract both the firmwares.bin from that file using this tutorial here:
https://github.com/liho98/lenovo-bio...traction-guide
Can you help us out or tell how to do extraction of this new file here at this link?

Which one of the chips is EC if you can tell me, because the 2 chips that are near one another are one Main chip 16MB in size and the other one is 8MB which I don't believe is the EC chip as EC chip has 256 KB in size when dumped?

Wrote the first file 16MB in size after I made a backup first which is also 16MB in size, and now it behaves a little differently, but still no power ON laptop. I read also the second chip near it which is 8MB in size and uploaded here if you can help me, thanks so much
P.S. I didn't wrote the second file that you have here which is 256 KB in size as my second BIOS chip is 8MB in size after reading backup..,,...Leave a comment:

Hello all
I have bought a used laptop which has some strange issues booting and it is very hard to start it. Sometimes it releases some strange beeps , and after trying many times it powers up then. Can it be some BIOS problem?
I have desoldered the chip GigaDevice and read it and upload here, but the other chip near it was not present at all as in the attached photo. Is that normal for the other chip to be missing there ?
Model is Lenovo L13 yoga gen 2 type 20VL 20VK
Type : 20VK-YMZ
Serial: R91179JF
Are these enough infos for somebody to help...Leave a comment:

Thanks so much bro for your work. I am sorry that I couldn't test also your file, because as the first one worked I wouldn't like to have more troubles as I am working directly without desoldering and it worked at first with minhdigital file.
Thanks once again...Leave a comment:

This one worked, thanks. I am reinstalling it now with Windows 11...Leave a comment:

I reread the dump and now seems to be OK as there is more content inside when opened with HxD, and also RAR archive now is more heavy.
The serial is :

LincPlus P1 BIOS password
I have got such a Chinese laptop with password on screen asking. I managed to dump a chip but it is 8MB in size, and I don't know if this laptop maybe has another chip for the BIOS (which maybe 16MB or 32) but it can also be that it has only this 8MB chip as it is a simple laptop very low cost laptop. The whole motherboard is smaller than some phablets....
I have attached the dump read from it with RT809H if somebody could help me to unlock I appreciate it so much.
It is asking password on the attached photo...Last edited by ordinateur; 01-23-2025, 10:37 AM. -
I have one DELL identical 7760 Precision which was working and suddenly it is just not powering up anymore just some lights blink on the keyboard and nothing else. Can it be that Windows 11 was updating the BIOS and did something wrong with it ? Can I try the BIOS from this thread to revive it again ?

Just found out that my laptop had HDD password also, that's why it always asked again for the BIOS password, but after removing HDD it doesn't ask password and it seems that it has gone already..
Thanks...Leave a comment:
