• Hello all
I have bought a used laptop which has some strange issues booting and it is very hard to start it. Sometimes it releases some strange beeps , and after trying many times it powers up then. Can it be some BIOS problem?
I have desoldered the chip GigaDevice and read it and upload here, but the other chip near it was not present at all as in the attached photo. Is that normal for the other chip to be missing there ?

Model is Lenovo L13 yoga gen 2 type 20VL 20VK
Type : 20VK-YMZ
Serial: R91179JF

Are these enough infos for somebody to help...

Thanks so much bro for your work. I am sorry that I couldn't test also your file, because as the first one worked I wouldn't like to have more troubles as I am working directly without desoldering and it worked at first with minhdigital file.

Thanks once againminhdigital...

I reread the dump and now seems to be OK as there is more content inside when opened with HxD, and also RAR archive now is more heavy.

LincPlus P1 BIOS password

I have got such a Chinese laptop with password on screen asking. I managed to dump a chip but it is 8MB in size, and I don't know if this laptop maybe has another chip for the BIOS (which maybe 16MB or 32) but it can also be that it has only this 8MB chip as it is a simple laptop very low cost laptop. The whole motherboard is smaller than some phablets....

I have attached the dump read from it with RT809H if somebody could help me to unlock I appreciate it so much.

It is asking password on the attached photo

• I have one DELL identical 7760 Precision which was working and suddenly it is just not powering up anymore just some lights blink on the keyboard and nothing else. Can it be that Windows 11 was updating the BIOS and did something wrong with it ? Can I try the BIOS from this thread to revive it again ?

Thanks

• Re: [Help]Reading EC - T14 G1 AMD with RT809h

So, where is the password stored then, on the other chip? Do you have datasheet of the other chip with pinouts?

I need to try the method here shared by RT809H developers on youtube

• Re: ThinkPad T14 Supervisor password

Will have to look in the RT809H forums as there I see that even RT809 can write these EC or chips or what are these, otherwise I don't believe that just SVOD or Vertyanov can handle these chips and RT809H no.

But the worst thing is that the forums are in Chinese and I am not managing to even register on there, but I am just translating the sites with Google....

Working magnificiently. Thanks so much.
As a token of appreciation for this university here at badcaps I made some donations, and I suggest also other users do the same.

I see many users just come here to learn something that when they learn it , they are so selfish, that they try to imprison that knowledge to keep that just for themselves.

The knowledge should be shared, as the universe rewards you when you do so....

Hi,
I am on the same boat with you, did you find anything to read directly with RT809H and if not, did you tried to desolder that chip and program directly like we desolder the other Winbond BIOS chips and insert directly onto RT809H programmer, then returning it back after programming?

P.S. I have the same chips here on a Thinkpad t14 Gen1 MB

Yes , sorry, but I saw that my board doesn't fit in coolshrimps tutorial as it has MEC chips, but this board of mine has ITE chips and seems that it can be done via KBC connector only, and the R/W resistor which I am not knowing the position of that resistor.

• Dell Latitude 5420 Bios Password ST suffix 0001

Hello all
First of all, I am sorry if I could have posted on another thread, but I searched the whole forums and I didn't saw any other thread with this model suffix 0001.

As per title I have this DELL Latitude 5420 with Service Tag #2CMH7G3-0001 with password. Wanted to remove it but I really don't know if any of these chips should I read or another on the back side of the Motherboard.

These 2 possible chips are to be seen as soon as back cover is removed.

Thanks...
