if it read zero ( nothings ) at the opposite way measure try it.

yes 850, switch leads and it's 1, like most diodes, read in diode mode, most standard diodes I read are usually 5xx or close to it.

did yours meter read 1 when there are nothings connect to the probe at this diode mode ???

Yes the old one reads the same as the new one, 850 and 1 in reverse.

did you messure other at the pack u bought all read 850 ?

Read all 20 of the 1n4732, all read around 850, read about 40 of the others all read about the same 840 to 860 or so, gave up at that point, there is 200 zeners in all, from 1n4728 to 1n4737.

i would put the original back. and the way you did only cap 220 change it to 2 of 110uf or 3 of 78uf.. it may now the currents low amp. dive in your scrap and look if you find main caps

Thinking about using two of these three: 450v 160uf, 450v 47uf and 400v 180uf, looks like closest match is 450v 47uf and 400v 180uf.

Well I don't have two that match in the whole mess, guess I'll have to buy some, will two 450v 110 or 120uf be ok for permanent replacement? thanks.

Ok, thanks, did anyone measure one of these zener diodes 1n4728 thru 1n4737? still not sure if I got a bad batch, they all read 840 to about 860.

None, nobody has a zener 1n4728, 1n4729, 1n4730, 1n4731, 1n4732, 1n4733, 1n4734, 1n4735, 1n4736, or 1n4737, they can test in diode mode??
