Pioneer Elit 1120HD Power Supply issue?

    Hi All,

I am back. I had success with the help of HeavyMachines and freakaftr8 with replacing a couple capacitors and need their help again. The TV worked great until now it won't stay on.

ISSUE: When turning the TV on, the screen flashes on then hear a click and the TV turns off with the red light blinking. attached is a pic of the screen right before it shuts off.

I am guessing it is the power supply but would like your review and help to diagnose and fix.

    Thanks in advance!

Hey it's been a while! Looks like sustain board issues. Can you snap clear photos of the power supply, Y and Z boards?

Yeah it has been awhile but I was hoping not to be back so soon!! Here are the pictures you requested. Let me know if you need close ups but hopefully you can enlarge them if need be.

On the Z board, unplug the connector that feeds VSUS. Power on and see if it stays on.

No it won't stay on...stays on green light for 3 or 4 sec and then shuts off with red blinking light.

OK you can try plugging That side back in and unplugging the connector off the opposite board

I just reviewed our other post that we had with your past repairs. On the Y board double check all your connections were you soldered the capacitors and make sure that they're making a good connection.

Ok. Your obviously generating some kind of VSUS voltage. You wouldn't see anything if you were not.

I'm wondering what VSUS may be doing in the few seconds it stays on. Do you have a volt meter?

The picture I posted originally is what happens during the few seconds before it shuts off. For example, I turn on the tv and the image of the picture I posted shows up for a split second and then shuts off.

I don't have a voltmeter but I can go buy one.

Ok well let's try this on the Y board that you repaired before . Get a hair dryer and heat up the capacitors that you previously replaced especially C2302.

Try powering it on and see if it does the same thing if it does repeat the same procedure with the Z board.

This is a shutdown because one or more of voltages are out of spec in judging by the picture I'm seeing it looks like VSUS is low

Now this could be caused by a sustain board problem or a power supply problem as we need to figure out.

Can you note how many times the red light blinks when the set shuts down? It might tell us a more specific fault code.

In 3's. i.e. blinks 3 times, blank, blinks 3 times....

To clarify. Once I push the ON button, light goes green, then maybe 2 seconds, the tv clicks and then the red light blinks in sequences of 3.

I am trying to fix a samsung washinmachine power supply main board.
I already replaced it with another one to fix the machine but i want to try understand the issue with the old board.
Therefore i hope to be able to get some help to explain what to check in order to troubleshoot.

I was given this TV from my great uncle. He said it just wouldn't turn on one day out of nowhere, replaced the TV, and gave it to me to possibly fix and use for myself.

Upon bringing it home and plugging it up, it showed a standby light.

I powered it on and without a flashlight, the display showed the "V" but the lighting is very dim, but visible.

The screen seems to blackout and stay black, but with a flashlight I can see the display.

With my Playstation 4 connected via HDMI, and running a game I can hear sound.

I have a floodlight-security camera that recently died on me.

its hardwired to 115v po115v outlet. One evening it simply died. After some troubleshooting (ensuring it had power and ensuring the electronics were actually functional by supplying 5v via usb port) i realized the power supply must be the issue. The supply was noticably warm to the touch even though it was not powering anything.

Trying to understand what i was up against i went looking for others with similar issues and anyone who might have attempted a repair. While a few ppl have had the...
