Sony kdl 65xg9505 green amber blinking

Good Day.

I just replaced tcon on my sony kdl 65xg9505 and getting green amber leds blinking. all voltages are ok according to working sequence.

i downloaded firmware from sony and there is no .pkg fike.. after extracting it gives another file which contains multiple files like inf, payload.bin and 3, 4 other files. i just did that usb but did not worked. anyone knows anything how to do it..?

green amber blinking stops after while and then starts again. tv responds to remote control on off etc. before installing new tcon backlite was coming on without backlite and was playing music via hdmi. after installing tcon this green amber issue showed up. now with or without tcon same issue.

renaming, in original state nothing helps. any idea's which may help is welcome..

Well it's written right there:
Extract the downloaded file to a location on your computer you can easily find.
Note: After you extract the downloaded file, you will find another zip file (sony_dtvxxxxx_xxxx_xxxxxx.zip).
You just need to extract the internal zip file to the flash drive.

yes. and that zip does not do anything when i put it in usb drive. usb is formated mbr 16gb ntfs

Tv does not seems to be using that file. cause no matter what its just blinking green amber.

You need to turn on the TV, the LEDs will start blinking, wait about 20 seconds and then insert the USB with the firmware into the TV...

And not all USB flash drives will accept the update, try different smaller flash drives from different companies!

And format the USB flash drive to fat32.

i just extracted the downloaded zip to the usb which created another zip in there.

turned the tv on. green amber blink for 20 seconds then i inserted the usb in tv. now its still blinking green amber and then goes solid green for few seconds and goed all leds out then starts again the same. it does not turn in to blinking white which all other sony does..

ok. i have 3x usb drives.

2x usb 2.0, 1x 3.0.

i will try again with all 3 one by in fat32 format.

only that extracted zip is ok. or do i need to extract the 2nd zip to reveal all the files..

The second zip does not need to be unzipped.
"Insert the USB flash drive containing the extracted file (sony_dtvxxxxx_xxxx_xxxxxx.zip) into a USB port of the TV set."

2nd usb. fat32 16gb. usb starts to blink and the tv led goes to solid green for few seconds. then all leds goes out. then starts all over again. goes out, goes on blinks green amber goes out. it never blinks white.. or i just need to wait and it may be blinking green and amber during the update..?

You should try 4.8 Gb flash drives, this is SONY, they are very capricious when it comes to flash drives....

Before each update check, try this
Unplug the TV and wait 20 seconds.

Reconnect the TV to the outlet, wait 30 seconds and then turn it on using the button on the remote control.

And after about 20 seconds, insert the USB drive into the USB connector of the TV.

i am not sure of the led blink behaviour on this tv. it goed solid green then goes out. then just now it got solid amber then went out so. i mean how long normally it should blink green and amber before going to white. and should it go to white or what else. and how to know if its not reading or working the files.

It is better for you to have a usb flash drive with an LED, and then you will see that it is being accessed, it will blink, which means files are being copied, the update can last 20 minutes with a black screen, then it will reboot, when updating, it is strictly forbidden to remove the usb flash drive, press buttons and turn off the TV.

wel. usb is with led indicator. it blinking at 1st then nornal slow blink but not fast as its being accesded.

i think this .zip firmware in only working when the tv is working and someone wants to update. i watched 100 videos and posts about sony firmware updated and all were using .pkg in a usb when tv gives green amber blinks.

otherwise it was working without tcon. i could here the music and all those beeps when tv is accessed via remote.

but now i dont here those beeps iether. bluetooth is still visible when i try to connect my mobile..

i have tried 4x diff usb's and all kind of tricks but non worked..so only left option is .pkg file which i couldnt find anywhere..

Took out same board from another tv. doing the same issue. green amber. usb activity goes on for about 5 minuts then the tv restarts and then the same..

Probably bad eMMC.

wel. same board from a working tv with broken screen which was booting perfect giving the same issue..

anyway to confirm if eMMC is bad..? which programmer can be used to reprogram replacment eMMC? and what files are required..
