        OK, finally!, VIPER22A.
Check to see if it has DC voltage (set meter to 200V range) between Source and Drain pin, be careful not to let the probes slipped.

Re: LG 32LX1D will not turn on

The IC requires 14.5Vdc to start. You can try replacing that start up cap (sooner or later that cap will have to be replaced any way, just like in post 20), it may have leakage and not allow the startup voltage to rise up to 14.5V, or bad IC.

Hi guys, I didn't get a new TV like Captgrail suggested in post #77, I put this aside due to my mother becoming very ill and going to hospital. Spent the last 3 weeks at the hospital and then her house where they placed her in hospice. Unfortunately she just passed away on Monday and dealing with her funeral arrangements this week. Hopefully I can get started back up on this TV soon to get it repaired. I'll post soon what I get on my new DMM.

Both my ST5.0v readings are 00.7 when set on 200v DC on my meter. Everything else just reads 0.

If I have it on 20 it fluctuates between 0.78-0.83. Ok I just heated up C126 with hair dryer and plugged TV back in and it powers up for about 1 minute and shuts back off. TV screen comes on. I hooked up a dvd player and I get sound but no picture.

So it seems I probably need to replace that C126. Would I need to replace anything else? What would cause it to have no picture. I did what Budm suggested in post #91. Now what.

Ok so now I unplugged my dvd component cables and replaced them with just a red/white/yellow video cables and now I have picture and sound, plugged in a computer and have picture (unknown if sound yet since I need keyboard and mouse). Originally my problem was sound and no picture from HDMI cable. TV sat unused for a few months and when I went back to try to figure out what the problem was I had no power either.

I think change that cap and if you want to justify paying the postage buy some more
to replace caps of the same make on that board. That one has to work hard so has failed sooner. It will give a better base to work from if other faults become apparent

I'll try that, it could hurt unless my soldering sucks.

Well, I haven't done a thing since my last post and TV still running. Have an old Mac G4 hooked up to it using it in the garage for time being. It's what I am using right now for the monitor. Afraid to turn it off for fear it won't come back on. Think I should still try my hand at soldering and replace that C126 cap.

After 5 hours it finally shut back off and lost power again. Will be replacing that cap when I get it.

Ok C126 cap were Sam Young 105degree KMG 47uf 50v, the one I just bought is Jackson 47uf 50v 13A LHK...No one at Frys Electronics could tell me if they were in fact compatible. Not sure if the 13A makes a difference.

                                        In a word Useless!

You need a Panasonic FR FM or FC or nichicon or rubycon equivalent from digikey
