  • Re: Kodak Printer drivers ESP7 ESP5250

    Managed to power up an old PC that runs on win7 that I only use to back up pics.
    Plugged the printer in and it found it imediately and started searching for drivers. First it came up as a camera ? then 5 minutes later decided
    it was a scanner. ( That worked great ) maybe 10 minutes or so it decided it was an AiO ( allinone) Printer and it appears to work though the print output still needs some work.
    Colour is not too bad but Black is barely there. So I am fixed. If I can extract the drivers I will add them...

  • Kodak Printer drivers ESP7 ESP5250

    Long time no post!!
    However I need help with a Kodak Printer Kodak All in One Easyshare ESP7. or an ESP 5250 but happy to try anything.

    Some years back I got these two printers off freecycle and one came with new cartridges In sealed box ( fit both printers)
    I have just got round to trying to get them working and find that Kodak gave up on personal printers
    and will not even look at any queries since 2012 !!

    The printhead on the ESP 7 was dried out but I am gradually getting that unclogged, so working on the main problem

    Hi all, long time no visit I am dragging up this old thread as I have a question regarding the board. Vince mentions socket PL804 as not being in use on this set BUT I was wondering if anyone knows what it was used for ( Maybe on on other sets) I have looked
    at a range of sets with this Vestel Board and havent spotted anything.
    It is 6 pins 12v 12v Gd Gd 5v 5v and is on the schematic.

    Thanks- Maybe if the OP had said D340J I would have remembered. Though it is some years since I played with these CPUs.
    Whilst it will physically fit, the fact that it is not on the compatibilty list should be a good clue that it will not work, though IIRC, it was a grey area
    as some boards would work some wouldnt and some would on a bios upgrade?

    @OP perhaps try with one stick of ram in case the two are incompatible.

    I am not really understanding this?

    The Celeron D340 is for a PPGAE478 socket Ie it should have 478pins?

    Motherboard DG31PR has a LGA775 socket ie processor should have 775 pins?

    If that is correct then I will be surprised if you have not caused damage to both processor and motherboard....

    Have you checked the Cmos battery is ok.
    Can I assume you have the attached?
    Section2.1.2 suggests that the file should perhaps be renamed P5PEVM.ROM

    Can you make a bootable floppy in another PC and add the rom to it then try it in the machine with the new board from a cold start. (maybe disconnect the hard drive and CD so it doesnt try to boot from them?

    Was the board supposed to be working, when you got it?
    Have you tried starting without any ram - any beeps then?...

    That cant be correct as it only has 14 pins??

    It is helpful if you show what they should be when known

    190dvc may not be right but it is a start.
    The fuse may give a "beep" sound but is better to get the resistance.
    Some meters have been known to beep on a blown fuse. In this case it must be good else there would be no voltage on the big cap.
    I am not sure about some of the solder joints on the back of the power supply
    is pic of the back of the power supply board your board?

    Next thing to test would be the voltage on the "output" sockets, unfortunately they dont look to be labelled so all you...

    OK First find the fuse shown on the last pic then locate the solder joints on the back of your board. Set your meter on ohms200 and with the board not plugged in test the fuse. Should show the same as holding the probes together.

    If that is good then see the BIG capacitor CK1 find the solder joints of that on the back of your board. Working on a non conductive surface set your meter on VDC600 and with the mains power applied to the board Very carefully test the
    voltage on the Big Cap. DO NOT touch anything else on the board....

    Thanks for the comments folks - At least I am not alone in stumbling on this major plug and play incompatibility masterpiece. Yes 3 different makes -Zalman, Antec and an unknown (just have the cable) Naturally the pins will only pull out on the good original cable (as I dont need to pull those) and the others wont budge so its a cut and re solder job.

    Do you have a multimeter and a soldering iron and can you use them.
    Please provide GOOD CLEAR pictures of the boards in YOUR machine.

    Ok On your youtube video it took 50 seconds to the acer logo. Is that a long time for this monitor?
    You do not have a working PC connected, some monitors do not function well without a source signal.
    There is NO inverter board those are only in ccfl lit monitors One board is the Main Board and the other is the driver for the LEds.
    The caps (ALL) should be replaced with Good quality caps Panasonic FM or rubycon, nichicon equivalents with the same voltage and uf values. There are a lot of fakes about so you need to buy from a...

    Hi, bit of story here and a warning to anyone who doesnt know!!I know its my own fault BUT naively expected that sata connectors would be standardised. I got a freebie PC and after taking it to bits and putting it back together it was running well. Unfortunately it had only one sata cable for the power supply and I wanted to connect 3 drives, a ssd with the OS and two 2TB drives one old that was dodgy (bad sectors) and a new one that I was going to transfer the files to.
    Thought hey, I am sure I have a spare cable left over from a previous set up. Eventually found it and just plugged it...

    As suggested I would agree that the pink at the edges is due to ageing bulbs.

    You will need an awful lot of luck and it will probably do no good.

    Have you tested the secondary wiring resistances. They need to be almost the same within 5% on both transformers. Perhaps post a good clear picture of your board

    Whilst I do not know what might be wrong with the main board, you can test the larger components and even small caps for shorts if you have the patience.
    All the small switching transistors would have to be removed to test.
    Your best bet might be to find a monitor on ebay with a broken screen and save on postage by asking them to remove and send only the main board.

    What you DO need to do is to stop testing as you are without understanding what you are doing. As a basic rule

    If you take the resistor off the board you may be able to see the colours on the underside
    if it has just blown out on the top side.

    EDIT if this is a 42 inch cello they are fairly new - is it not under gtee - or did you get it as a damaged return?
