Hello, I have an Acer Aspire 4520 from a couple of decades ago and I want to repair it solely for nostalgia.
It happens that when I turn it on after having been disconnected for a long time, it turns on without problems, it tells me that the BIOS has been reset and that it will load the factory settings, if I tell it to continue, the computer turns on and everything works fine.
The moment I turn it off and want to turn it back on a second time, or restart it and try to start it again, it no longer gives an image, and it no longer responds.
If I remove the battery and the CMOS, leave it for a couple of minutes, and turn it on again everything charges without problems, but again if I restart it it doesn't turn on the second time.
What could I verify or prove? I already flashed a new BIOS in case the original one was corrupt, I already replaced the CMOS battery with a new one, if I test the RAM it is OK, I don't change anything in the hardware, I just let it do a clear CMOS and it turns on without touching anything of the hardware, any ideas or suggestions on what it could be, or what I could investigate on power up?
As additional information, when I turn it on for the first time at the source it goes up to ~1450mAh and then goes down to ~1025mAh when it gives an image
When I restart it it only goes up to ~1000mAh and then drops to ~850mAh
As if it were not turning on some phase of the board... Although it is not short since everything works when it starts up for the first time
