Re: LENOVO BIOS AUTO-PATCHER for Supervisor Password Removal
Hi, i need a little help here. I have a P52 with a SVP. I have worked with the autopatcher before and made sure i have a valid dump.
In my first attempt i patched the dump and flashed it onto the CMOS. But all i got was a black screen and an error-melody after about one minute of waiting.
Then i read that i might need to clean the ME part of the bios. I followed the instructions on level1techs to clean the ME and patched the cleaned bios afterwards. But i had no luck with the cleaned+patched bios. The P52 was completly dead.
Maybe i made a mistake while cleaning the ME. Can someone clean (+patch) the attached dump?
Thanks in advanceAttached FilesComment

Re: LENOVO BIOS AUTO-PATCHER for Supervisor Password Removal
Thank you, but it didn't work. Again the error-melody. Does anyone has an idea what could be the problem. It seems others were able to unlock the p52 with 32m bios.Comment

Re: LENOVO BIOS AUTO-PATCHER for Supervisor Password Removal
newly installed patch, I delete the NVRAM by short-circuiting the two pins of the
CMOS battery for a few seconds, so all capacitors and controllers are
discharged.
Just so my opinion has been very much preserved.Comment

Re: LENOVO BIOS AUTO-PATCHER for Supervisor Password Removal
Newbie here....
1) How to do the BIOS dump and flash? Which software tool can be used for Lenovo laptop T480 BIOS?
2) A little confused about "Restore original BIOS". It means to restore the BIOS I dumped or need to download the original T480 BIOS from somewhere and restore/flash?
Thanks in advance.Comment

Re: LENOVO BIOS AUTO-PATCHER for Supervisor Password Removal
I know how to use the auto patcher software, my question is? is there anyway to decrypt the password out of a Yoga 370 bios dump, my only reason for asking is because i have about 100 of these all from the same company and probably all with the same password. Dump file is attached.Attached FilesComment

Its not the same company where we got the HP's from. Unfortunately some of the companies we work with wont give us the password. We are an ITAD company who recycle laptops and computing equipment.Comment

Re: LENOVO BIOS AUTO-PATCHER for Supervisor Password Removal
Thanks @Vesko356.
Newbie updates:
1) How to dump the BIOS: need to get the Intel FPT (Flash Programming Tool). The Lenovo WinFlash can only update the BIOS, not for dumping. I found the Intel FPT from GitHub. Then run from the laptop CMD: FPTW64.exe -BIOS -D T480.bin
2) How to verify the BIOS dump: run from the laptop CMD: FPTW64.exe -BIOS -VERIFY T480.bin
3) How to patch: run the CMD: autopatch.cmd T480.bin
Got the Good Luck message and patched bin file
4) How to flash and replace the current BIOS with the generated patch file: I plan to use the CMD command: FPTW64.exe -BIOS -F T480_PATCHED.bin
Need to help on this step 4: is this step/command correct?
Thanks in advanceComment

Re: LENOVO BIOS AUTO-PATCHER for Supervisor Password Removal
Thanks @Vesko356 again
Now back to question zero: which one is the BIOS chip? I found there is 8-pin Winbond 25Q80DVSIG chip (at U15) near the C-MOS battery and 8-pin MXIC MX25L12873F at U49. Which one we need to work on (dump, patch and flash)?

by jbonavitaHi, my laptop wont boot at all
With original bios no POST, only LED lights
With alternative BIOS from model TP500LN (flashed via programmer) the notebook works again
Some issues
A- with bios from 500LN, it won't update from bios of model 500LA (from 500LN v203 to 500LA v300)
B- If updated from 500LN version 203 to 300, the battery stops being recognized
Things I tried
1- Update / clear ME: Took the non working bios, made a backup, and did this: https://www.badcaps.net/forum/troubl...theory/trouble...-

by zeniusHello, I have an old Dell G3 3579 (ST: 2WQ7LP2-8FC8) with a newer 8FC8 BIOS password. I have successfully attached to the flash chip (W25Q128JVSQ) on the motherboard with a CH341A programmer and made several modifications using Intel FIT (e.g., allow software SPI write) without bricking. I was also able to boot to a modified GRUB shell where I attempted to edit many BIOS security related options like BIOS Guard/Lock, Flash Signature Override, ME FW Image Re-Flash, etc.
Unfortunately, some of these modifications like to Intel BIOS Guard failed because it is fused into the PCH. Also,...-

by WahazHello,
I have a Lenovo Thinkbook 15 G2 ITL i5 Laptop (serial number: MP2BFZEF) that when I turn it on, the led on the power button lights up for 5 seconds, then goes out. There's no display and nothing happens.
So I thought it was a Bios problem.
I found 3 bios chips on the board, which I read with a bios programmer: two XMC model bios chips and a Winbond model bios chip. Each XMC model bios chip has two partitions named XM25QH128A [3.3V] and XT25F128A [3.3V]. And the Winbond model bios chip has three partitions named W25Q80BL 3.3V, W25Q80xV 3.3V and W25Q80DV 3.3V....-

by BloodhoundjeHi everyone,
I have been doing hardware repair as a hobby for some years now and recently decided to learn about repairing laptops as a fun challenge.
I managed to get my hands on a "HP Pavilion Gaming 15-ec2523nd" notebook that only shows a white power LED and doesnt respond to anything.
After initial testing I concluded the bios seems to be corrupted since all voltages are normal and there are no shorts. HP has a feature for a bios restore from USB with winkey+B for this model. This did not work.
I have desoldered the bios chip (GigaDevice...-
