Hi guys,
I purchased used MSI GE 73 Raider laptop used from a guy.When laptop came home I noticed that there is no "golden circle connector" on the headphoner jack (pic below).
I contacted the seller, he told me like it was there and it probably fell off.
I am not dumb, is he lying to me or it is possible that in the shipping it really fell off?
Oer laptop is missing whole connector.
The headphone jack works normally,I have tested it with headphones....

Okay, so I am probably missing 3.5 mm stereo hedphone jack inside I guess.
Can it be replaced?
Is it universal for all laptops or I need to search for this specific MSI one and solder with technician guy?

Hi,
I've a MSI GE72 which crashed during firmware update, according to the customer.
The symptoms are exact like original poster's issue.
I did flash a new BIN to the chip (off board). This did not change anything.
I do see traffic between bios and cpu when probing pin 2 and 5 of the bios chip, so something is good.
The final thing I want to try is reflashing the EC. I did practice on another board with the ENE KB9028Q on it, which succeeded, so I'd like to give it a go on this one.
Can somebody help me with an EC dump?

I measured the incoming voltage around 20v then the voltage of 5 and 3 volts also appeared, but when I checked using a power supply at 20v, the ampere value did not move at all aka 0 ampere. for measurements using resistance how do you know if something is shorted?

oh yes for the bios flashing tool I have a ch341a programmer, coincidentally I have flashed my laptop bios too, but it still won't turn on.

I have this board, where I have exchanged the LGA1151 socket. During testing I discovered, that the large PCIEX16 slot won't by no force work in x16 mode, but keeps to work in x8 mode only.
I tested this with GPU-Z, also with Render Test (but tried also Furmark and Heaven Benchmark - no effect).
Tested on Core i5-9600K as well as on an Pentium G5420 and MSI NVIDIA GTX1070 and 2 other cards, including RTX3060Ti.
Board architecture definitely allows x16 mode, as all 16 PCIe lanes are present between CPU and main GPU slot (nearest to CPU)....

i have same issue but always have 3,3v and 5 v i hat damage ec chip after replace i get 30mma and then 80mma without starting the laptop. I think in your case it could bei the EC you mus buy programmed ec and extract ec firmware from msi side. can you please send me your boardview because i also need firmware.

I bought a motherboard with a Chipset IR35201 burned. Also, I found one of the dual mosfets shorted. So I changed the IR35201 and the 2 dual mosfets, and the short is gone, the board is starting, rgb led are on, but the NB fan runs at full speed, and the debug led for CPU lights up. I tried to flashed the bios using the flashback, it flashes fine, the board restarts, but still the same. If I measure the resistance on the 2 dual mosfets coil, I get with the CPU in 1ohm, and without the CPU I can't remember but megaohms. So, I thought the CPU is bad, I tried the CPU on another...

Since 5 or 6 months my old MSI laptop (based on MS-16J51 board, I don't have the machine with me atm, i'll update the exact number when I'll get home) started randomly loosing the nvme drive.

At first I thought it was a bios issue, changed the bios battery that was a bit low, but did not solve the issue.

It used to happen like once every 2 or 3 weeks, but now it became more frequent and can happen several time in the same day if you restart the computer.

It looses the nvme at power-up (will boot to bios and report no nvme drive but still...

Hello community. I've got an ASUS VA27EHE with a Panda LC270lf1l01 panel that started to behave strangely. A bit of intro:
If you power on the monitor without any inputs it turns on, displays the ASUS logo, shows no signal and goes into standby normally. When you plug it via HDMI sometimes and more recently, most of the times, it distorts the bios logo with horizontal lines, then when loading into windows 50-50 the windows emblem also is in horizontal lines. And after the system loads it almost always works properly, lol. On some rare occasions a part in the top of the monitor is being distorted...

So I am looking at a board view suggested above, believed to be for an MSI 3060. The board I have shares a very similar PCB but does not have all the components populated compared to the MSI

It works all fine but discrete graphics is not detected.

The motherboard is a Thermal 8-M2L4.5 and bios chip is not the original one.

I have downloaded and flashed bios chip with E16J9IMS.324 from MSI website, but nothig changes.

I have flashed EC Firmware with 16J9EMS1.112 via windows. (ECWin.BAT)

The weird thing is that when ECWin.BAT finish its job, it doesn't reboot, only screen goes black and current comsumtion goes up from 1.5 amps to 2.4 amps.

Given a laptop. It was unrealible, however repeating switching off then back on always brought it back to life for a while. I started a Furmark test and the card worked ca. 10 seconds correctly, then the power supply suddenly switched off.
Tried to power again, but no luck, short protection active at PSU, short at 12V GPU Power.

Took the card out of the board, measured 12V supply's and the short was only on the 12V PCIe slot power supply, the 12V line from the PSU had no short.
