    MSI GF63 MS-16W21 - Black Screen LCD - Working HDMI

    Hello,
    I have an MSI GF63 laptop with a MS-16W21 motherboard on my table, and there is no image on the LCD screen. However, when connected via HDMI, the image displays correctly.

    Voltages on the EDP 40-pin connector pins:

    3pin = 012V,
    5pin = 1.75V,
    6 pin = 5V,
    7 PIN = 3.3V
    32 PIN = 2.2V
    33 - 36 PIN = 3.3V
    38-40PIN - 19V

    PU21 - MP2143

    1 - 5V
    2 - 5V
    3 - 3.3V
    4 - 0V
    5 - 3.3V
    6 - 0V
    7 - 0.6V
    8 - 3.3

      Measure voltage on pin14/15 of edp connector.
      Is it dimm display issue or no display issue on internal screen?
      The measurement given are for PU21 or PU22?

          I had no way to test the matrix on another laptop, I ordered a new original one for MSI. The effect is the same, no image. The voltage +3V_LCD appears for a moment and drops to 0V

            Dont have the exact boardview/schematic for this model in my database. I beleive PU21 is responsible for generating +3V_LCD. If yes, then there should be a coil nearby PU21 where this +3V_LCD goes.
            Try de soldering this coil and measre resistance to GND on both sides of this coil( on the IC side+ on the edp side).
            Share the values.

              IC 7.5kohm / edp 8kohm - replacement MP2143 , +3V_LCD will appear for a moment and then drop to 0

                What are the full topside markings on PU22 (drives the power rail to the LCD)?

                Post a clear pic of this part. Have only the boardview file for this model. Would you have a full schematic?

                If you are also missing the image then there may be a mux (multiplexer) that steers the data from the graphics processor to HDMI or this target LCD.

                  I am posting a photo - PU21 system, as a precaution I did a PCH reflow, programmed the BIOS.

                    the signal EDP_OD# is from the KBC kb9548qf2 BGA chip, shouldn't it be 3V?

                      De-solder PL20 and inject 3V on edp connector side from another source. Do you get display?

                        Check also the lid sensor at the back of your display connector which is U24 that gives +3valw and backlight on

                          On the PL20 coil I have a constant voltage of 3.3V all the time, on U24 I have +3VALW, U21 pin 4 - BL-ON 0V.
