    Polaroid FLM-3701 no power/ standy light

    Everything looks good no fuses blown maybe the lower bottom cap might be bulged a little but nothing I can see, I order a cap kit today , Am I on the right track?

      It could be the angle of the pic, but it looks like you have quite a few blown caps on the left side of pic 2. I count 8 - possibly 9. I can't clearly see the cap closer to the top of the pic on the left side (E3). That would be the possible 9th blown cap.

      I've attached a pic of two caps, just in case you're not sure. The cap on the left with the domed top is bad, while the cap on the right is visibly fine.

          Looks like at least 9 bad caps with domed tops to me too.

                  Don't run to Radio shack.
                  Get Panasonic FC or FM capacitors from Digikey. Select USPS First class mail for shipping and that way is pretty cheap.
                  Once I have repaired one of these too.
                  I remember, that somebody created a site on how to repair these.

                      About bad caps on the Polaroid FLM-3701:
                      The nine big output caps E8 thru E17 go bad and they will be obviously swollen. E8 - E13 are 680uF 35v and E15 - E17 are 680uF 25V.
                      However, there are three small 22uF 50V caps that also go bad. They look normal. They do not swell. They are E7, E8, and E22. Be sure to check those with an ESR meter.

                          Them bad caps are just the start ! You probably have the secondary output failure basically on these Kas boards bad caps cause a small Smd diode to fail which causes no standby.

                              I have the somewhat similar Polaroid flm-373b that I have repaired twice but now , even after replacing all the caps again , it has no standby light . No indicator light at all and fuse(s) look good. Could you elaborate a bit on which diode i should check ? Would it be better at this point to replace the whole board ?

                                      Hi all!

                                      I'm trying to troubleshoot a Microsoft Surface Pro (5th gen) model 1796 that won't power on. Motherboard model is M1007506-015. My priority is retrieving data, but the SSD is integrated so it looks like if I can't repair it it'll need to go to a data recovery company. I've done a little basic board repair before, but nothing this advanced until now. So please forgive my ignorance in advance. 😅

                                      I found the boardview for this laptop in the forums here, and am able to open it on my PC with FlexBV.

                                      Only 3/5 vl are present when charger connected..when i put my red probe at the coils of 3/5volts and power on with my power suplly it try to rise than 0v.
                                      when try to power on using power button i note this starnge value : 3v then 0.300v then 3v !
                                      No light at power button led

                                      All coils resistances :
                                      Pl 2001 =3v measured with kohm.
                                      pl 2004 = 5v measured with kohm

                                      Hi there,

                                      I've got a 39" LG 39LN540V that's just spontaneously stopped working! The symptoms are - when I plug it in, the red light will flash on twice, then go out, there's no visible picture, and I couldn't see anything using a torch on the panel either. If I press the power button (either remote or on TV), the red light comes on continuously. If I press power again, the red light flashes twice.

                                      The TV is using a power board EAX64905301. I've attached a diagram of the power output, I've tested the voltages with a multimeter and I'm getting the following:

                                      I have wanting to do this project for quite sometime now and I finally found a switching power supply that will work on this desoldering gun station ZD-915 that the original switching power supply took a shit and just was not worth trying to fix it because this switching power is not quite big enough to handle the heater element and the vacuum pump

                                      One note when I tested the switching power supply and the voltage control board I noticed that this desoldering gun heat up much faster than the original switching power supply which I was really surprised by to the point that I might buy...
