Hello Howardc64
Thank you and I had read your post a few days ago
The flex tape is still there from a previous repair and I shall leave it there.
No doubt you are correct on this point
It looks like the tape has been heat welded and not easy to remove
So I want to leave that alone
For the blinking I have not seen and I am five hours into testing
Let us see how I go
again, thank you

Update on this one
With the new diodes I do not note any temperature difference
Have been running the TV for fours now
Yet to see any blinking and I should have by now
I guess the factory reset and the re-soldering of the joints may have resolved this TV
will do another five hours of testing
thank youLeave a comment:

Hello Tiki66 and thank you so much. I was looking for that and will download and try it.
yesterday, for ten hours I ran the TV, with bluetooth and wifi disconnected and there was no problem
Turned tv off, almost hourly, with the remote, waited 30 seconds and turned on. no problem
today, I have reconnected the bluetooth module and will test for around 12 hours todayLeave a comment:

LG 49UK7550PTA - after couple of hours screen starts to blink
Hello Forum team
Have this TV; searched for the model and could not anything so thought I would share in here
Had an issue, some years ago, and looks like some placed sticky tape over some of the lines on the FFC cables between the T con and the mainboard
Anyway, the owner, who gave me the TV, says it starts to blink after a few hours
So I removed the covers, and could not see anything visibly
Removed the power supply and thought some of the solder joints, on the hot side, were not the best. I thought some looked like they were cracked.

Thank you. I am trying with both disconnected this weekend. Leaving TV on. Will turn on and off by remote every hour or so or whenever I think of it. If all okay this weekend. then I will try your idea of one at a time.
I also need to try the factory reset but will do so after I try your ideas.
Again, thank youLeave a comment:

Hello
My first suggestion is that you might want to look for a replacement cable
If you dont know where to find you could start with AliExpress
They have many of those flex cables available for purchase
To create this burn or smoke I would assume you have short to ground somewhere in what ever parts are related to that cable. that or the cable itself was just shorting two wires internally.
that is the current suggestions that i have for youLeave a comment:

I took these voltage readings with the TV on and when it was working. You can see the handwritten notes and the photo of the t-con / buffer board. I had the DMM set on DC volts and the earth probe was on the chassis
It looks like all the voltages are correct.
I share these incase of use to someone else or even myself as I work through this problem...Leave a comment:

This youtube video suggests a factory reset and just thought I would share the link
I am yet to try this
instead i am going to keep the bluetooth and wifi disconnected for a few days over a couple of weeks and see what happens
link to youtube is here on the factory reset for Falcon TV

Using my thermal camera I note the two capacitors, to the right of the heat sink CPU CG29 and CG30 are reaching around 90 degrees celcius. other components on the board are only reaching around 50 degrees celcius. that is one obseration I have made so far
i have removed the combination power supply and motherboard and inspected visually
i cannot see any cracked solder joints and i cannot see signs of heat anywhere...Leave a comment:
