Re: Repaired vizio m320sl
That makes sense , I can check it. I am glad to know what it is. Should have occurred to me before. So as long as a good Mov is in the ps the tv will work but may not be protected from future surges . Thank you for the info , I could have mislead someone there with my post .

Re: Repaired vizio m320sl
Everything was burnt off the bad one and the one I put in had no writing on it at all but they were identical in physical size .

Re: Polaroid flm-373b : No standby light and no power .
I found a fair priced power supply ( $30 ) but not sure if I should try it. I replaced the caps 3 times but I believe I damaged the board while installing one of the caps . It still does nothing when plugged up but does have power to the one fuse I can find .. While typing this it occurred to me it could be the power button itself but I never had any trouble with it or and other buttons before plus the remote worked fine too. IDK... Just hate to throw it away thinking it may come in handy later , I recently repaired a Vizio...

Repaired vizio m320sl
I just wanted to pass this along in case it could help someone else. I was given this tv and it would do nothing . I found the fuse to be blown and upon further inspection a burnt component . It is circled in the picture but I do not (embarrassingly) know what it is but I had a good one from another ps board I had saved for parts . I soldered it in and it stopped blowing fuses and worked as it should . If some one can identify this component it would help and satisfy my curiosity as well ....

Re: Funai LF320FX4F Power Supply Issue?
Well the hairdrier trick isn't working anymore . Now all it does when powered on ( or plugged up )is flash the power indicator light several (17 if I counted right ) times. No light from the screen or Funai start up screen at all . Has any one found a solution for this ?

Re: Polaroid FLM-3701 no power/ standy light
I have the somewhat similar Polaroid flm-373b that I have repaired twice but now , even after replacing all the caps again , it has no standby light . No indicator light at all and fuse(s) look good. Could you elaborate a bit on which diode i should check ? Would it be better at this point to replace the whole board ?

Re: Polaroid flm-373b : No standby light and no power .
Been a while but I had replaced the caps and it did well for a while and then it started the same malfunction again , It would not power up when the blue light was on . Strangely enough if I let it cool down and held Ice against the Caps in question ( tried heat as well ) it would power up normally . I just left it on all the time but recently the the power button was accidentally hit and now it has no power light at all. I replaced every cap except the two large ones again and checked everything I could . The board looks slightly...

Re: Funai LF320FX4F Power Supply Issue?
I took a hairdryer and heated the capacitors on the power supply board to test to see if that was the problem and thankfully it powered on . I unplugged it and let everything cool down for a half hour or so and it powered back on and seems fine for now but I suspect the capacitors on the ps board will need changing soon . I figured I could get some capacitors to be ready in case it happens again . I hope you get your sorted out .

Re: Polaroid flm-373b : No standby light and no power .
Thanks for your help. I had 2 new 1000uf 25v caps and I used them to replace the year old 1000uf 10v caps . I also replaced the other 47uf25w ( from a old power supple ) you told me to and it powered on fully . It takes the indicator light longer than usual to go from red to blue when turning on or blue to red turning off. When I carried it back into the living room and plugged it back up it had a red light and it turned to blue but didn't power on so I removed the back and checked for bulged caps , they all look good. I was...

Re: Polaroid flm-373b : No standby light and no power .
Thank you. I had already changed c109 and now I will change the other one. I believe I will go ahead and (re ) change the ones I did a year ago to fix the original problem. What is that just above The circled cap on the left in the picture ? It kinda looks like a cap but isn't .Last edited by TJVJR; 07-21-2013, 06:14 PM.

Polaroid flm-373b : No standby light and no power .
Hello all , This is my first " official " Thread . I have posted on others concerning this model but I figured it may be better to start one of my own . I bought this TV used about a year ago and at that time it had standby light that would change from red to blue when power button was pushed but would not power on. I did some research and found the capacitors fail causing this problem so I replaced 2 ( circled in pic ) failed/bulged 1000uf 10v caps . It worked good until a few days ago , The lights / electricity went off during a thunderstorm twice and after the second time it would...

Re: Polaroid FLM373B Story
A small electronics store. I am not sure of brand but I have removed a couple ( the last 2 I replaced ) from a old working monitor but after the reading I have done on this site I don't think that was a good idea. I was in a hurry to replace them as this is our primary tv .My only means of testing the caps is visual and a multi meter . I believe I should replace all of the caps on the ps with new ones regardless of the way they look. What brand should I use ?

Re: Polaroid FLM373B Story
I am working on this same model and I replaced the 2 caps that most commonly fail about a year ago. It worked good until a few days ago , now it does nothing. I found the larger cap above the other 2 was bad as well as one under the heatsink , The rest look good but it still doesn't have power. I found only 2 caps under the heatsink , are there supposed to be 3 ?

Re: polaroid flm-373b lcd power issue and fixed!
I will try to get pics of the caps I have replaced tomorrow. For reference I will circle them in copy of above pic. What are snubber didoes and do they look the same as regular diodes ?
I also notice a small ark when plugging in the ac cord to the wall , back of tv or the board. Not big but you can hear it pop....
