Thanks, connector between PSU and MB disconnected on MB end and jumpers inserted. LVDS to T-CON from MB also disconnected. 12V applied to F71 (fuse on T-CON at LVDS connector) No Panel bars, so I'm guessing possible T-Con issueLast edited by learnmore; 05-12-2024, 01:41 PM.

Okay so progress. I've made the correct jumper connections on the SMPS ant all voltages on the connector (12, 3.5, 24) are present where they should according to the key on the SMPS board. There is 24volts goin to the T-con from the SMPS via the connector joining them. I also found this 24v on the T-con at F70 (next to the connector to SMPS). To get a panel test display should I now be sending 12V to F71 (another fuse next to the T-con to Mainboad connector)? I've attached the service manual for my model if it helps. I also had some more photos of the T-con....

Diah, when I ran TEST 2 according to the document, the relay on the SMPS began and continued clicking aggressively, is the to be expect?
I stopped at this stage and unplugged the AC as I am wondering if I jumped the wrong points. Please see the attached image for where I created a jumper for test two (3.5 to 12v)
FYI Test 1 was successful....

Lg oled 55ec930v automatically turns off after 1-2 seconds
Hi Community,
I've got the above model that activates the relay (clicks) and powers on the LG logo power light on when turned on. It then almost immediately turns off. I not noticed any image on the screen or heard any sound during this brief period.
Checks show:
3.5v on SMPS on (in off state, no other voltages present incl pwr on)
On pressing power button > the 3.5 pwn on voltage, 12v and 24v lines appear on the SMPS connnector between the main the SMPS but then all drop the zero in 1-2 seconds
Disconnecting 24 to TCON connector and powering on shows...

Fair enough, I'm going to test the waters. Hopefully I'll learn something by messing aorund with the boards--nothing to loose but some time...

HI Diah,
Thanks for joining and sharing your knowledge. I've also got a few faulty mainboards and would like to have a go repairing them. In the absence of the original panels and SMPSs, I wondered if there was a way to test them using a portable power supply and a TV160 for a display? I'm hoping the get better at voltage checks, Nor, Nand, emmc, boot loader and firmware updates using programmer and fly wires etc

Hey Davi,
Thanks for the tip. Btw, will I need to solder output wires from the ATX to the 5v and 12v lines on the mainboad? or is it possible to interface a powersupply directly onto the mainboard connector that usually goes to the SMPS?
As for Oled do you mean I should avoid this method (powering mainboard without SMPS)?
I've been thinking about this item on Ali, seems to even offer 24v, what do you think?

bump 😎, still looking for a way to power any mainboard that test it works by outputting display to a TV160 (mainboard tester), without the use of a SMPS--Essentially freeing myself form being next to the panel and SMPS, while repairing mainboards

How to choose a substitute mainboard
Hello again Community
Anyone verse on how you go about choosing a substitute mainboard for your TV repair. Like the chap in the video below sometimes a 1:1 replacement board is too expensive and reballing a mainchip(s) maybe outside of your skillset. In the video the poster states one needs to match the replacement board with the SMPS, T-con (if not built in) and panel (and substitute cabling be also be required).
I'm very interested in choosing a suitable replacement board for any model or make of TV and the general (or detailed if your willing) step this entails....

Thanks, photos are here: https://www.badcaps.net/forum/troubleshooting-hardware-devices-and-electronics-theory/troubleshooting-tvs-and-video-sources/3235854-samsung-ue70tu7020k-which-lines-to-tape-on-a-bad-panel
Like I said, got mine to work but look so learn how to block lines with precision rather than trial and errorhttps://Thanks, photos are here: [UR...said, got mine
