I get the same issue no matter what input I select
And also get it on a normal black screen it shows as very bright white

Could it be a fualty t-con board as all was fine until yesterday

    Any help is appreciated

I will post pictures if need be as well

Try some freezer spray on the hot chip and see what happens. It might just verify the faulty board.

If you are able to solder.
Replace just the chip they are £3- £5 off ebay

                  Aye--AS-15 chip--Yet Another casualty!

Such a common fault can give all sorts of brightness/neg image/colour distortions and used on a wide range of LCD/LED T-Con boards.....

Ive started buying the things in bulk!

Hi thanks for the reply I have no issues soldering

So I'll get the chip and see how I go

But will also source a replacement tcon just in case it goes wrong

                    Thanks guys

Nothing that we know of, it is one of the reason I do not get used board since we do not know when the IC (if it is not already replaced) will last.

Well--Not really, Its just a fairly hard driven part and has a finite lifespan.

You can try applying a silicone heat-pad (Dead-Toad) to conduct the heat from the chip to the steel T-Con tinwork cover, but I suspect its not actually a dissipation effect, more a cycling effect breaking down the (Lead-Free RoHS Crap) solder between the chip die and the package case, leading to local on-chip overheats on a microscopic level and failures....

--Its probably a few years old currently,--so if it gives you another 2-3 years, summit else will die and kill the set anyway!

Thanks both for the replies it already had some heatpad on there and it connects to the chassis as the TV is old now if I can get 2 years out of it then that's OK I'll replace the TV before then

The board I've been able to find is a refurbed board from emos

So will try that as a backup if my solder skills don't save the current board

                                Well---

Its Probably the replacement T-Con's AS-15! I had a Philips 40" not so long ago that had a darkish but otherwise fine picture--AS-15 was the problem!

Worth checking the 20 odd ref voltages marked, Vgama1 to 20 odd.

They should form a slowly climbing value, each one a bit more than the last....

If you around Swansea--I have a spare AS-15.....

1- is the T con from exact panel type T420**** rev *** including rev number? ?

2- Is the LVDS lead inserted correctly in t

3-have you updated the firmware to the latest?
(you can check by pressing 123654 on your remote control and confirm version)

4-have you done factory reset into the factory mode ?

if you done all this 4 d look at possible faulty T con again if your tv was working fine prior to T con going faulty

                                    Thanks both for the reply

I'll contact emos TV repairs as the replacement tcon is from them

I've got my original tcon still and an as15-f chip that I purchased new

But when I saw how small the pins was I decided soldering it on wasn't for me way beyond my skill

Ive gone in to service mode and based on what the service manual states my option code is also wrong

But I don't see my option codes on the TV anywhere so should I leave them alone ? And get emos to issue another tcon ?
