I am working on a KDL-46S4100 also, new main board only gives me a test screen loop. This thing is going to the land fill if it doesn't behave.lol No red light on this one .

got a different a board, now test loop is gone, just get solid blue but only when lvds is unplugged from the a board, when lvds unplugged from tcon side, nothing no backlight nothin, was thinking it might be the lvds cable, did you try a different one?

wondered if your main board is brand new?, I bought 1 form shop jimmy and 1 from ebay, still not sure if ether 1 is good.

having a hard time believing it's a bad panel, when it gives that test loop, makes me think it must be something besides the panel.

I tried two boards both from flea bay. I am going to try to boot it up with KDL-46w4100 software. I have never had a problem like this. I have been watching CL for a kdl-46s4100 with a broken screen. I am going to keep watching for another week. If I don't find one its software time. Will post if I have any luck.

I checked the cable contact for contact its good. Going to try the software you sent me tomorrow. My wife wants to go last minute shopping fun time NOT...Thanks again.

anyone know how many heat sink pads there should be, the ones that stick to the metal shield of the tcon board, I have 2 pads, but had the shield out for quite a while a pad or 2 may have fallen off and gotten lost, Thanks.

Success My KDL-46S4100 is working again.
Thank you so much nomoresonys the firmware worked.
The best part there are no tab bond problems.
One happy camper here..
