    Re: LG 32LX1D will not turn on

    How can I find the specs for the parts on the power board? Not sure how to identify them for replacement. The tv is a 32LX1D-UA

      Ok using a multimeter on caps won't tell you if they are good or bad. You need an ESR meter for that.

      Lets start off with the connector from the PSU to the Main... Set DMM to 20VDC and put black probe to the chassis (screw hole is good) and red probe to each of the pins.... If there is a marking next to the pin let us know what it says with each reading...

      Pin 1, 5vSTBY = 5v
      Pin 2 12VDC+ = 12v
      etc
      etc

        Re: LG 32LX1D will not turn on

        I have same issue with my LG 32LX1D, no power at all. I checked my board with a multi-meter and this is what I get.
        CN801 shows everything at 000 except:
        3.3V = 016
        12V = 007
        12V = 007
        ST5.0V = 016-018 doesn't hold steady

        CN802 everything 000 except INV-CTL = 001

        CN803 everything 000 except ST5.0V 080-081 flickers back and forth and last pin 3.3V=001

        CN804 and CN805 both start at 014 and drop down to 005 on 2nd pin

        IC501 and IC502 both show 003 at pin by triangle.

        None of the caps look bad, no discoloration, leaks or bulges that I can see. Any idea what I need to do?

          Ok firstly what setting do you have your multimeter on? ... Should be 20VDC... red probe to a pin and black to chassis (ground)

          Take some pics of your boards too

            Meter was set to 20VDC, black probe to chassis screw hole and red probe to pins. The same board as in post #13 but I will take pics of mine.

              So when you state 016 etc you mean 00.16?

                Yes, my meter doesn't show the decimal when set to 20.

                  Try measuring 9V and 1.5V batteries to see what it will show up as. Those readings are not valid. Meter's battery is good?

                    I tested my meter on several batteries and it shows 1.6v on all of them, I also retested the pins and get the same results. My meter only shows decimal point if I switch it to 200 from 20.

                            not sure but maybe you should reconnect the wires back into the connectors and then push the red probe tip down the side of each wire into the connector so it touches the metal part on the end of the wire see what readings you get then.

                                It looks like the pointer is correctly set to '20' (if the pictures is not fooling me), it cannot be right with reading showing 081 without the decimal point on the 20 scale.

                                  Nope, Dial is definitely 180 degrees off.. the concave side is at 20VDc and the convex at 10A

                                            Hello, i have some issues with my laptop Lenovo Y700-17ISK (motherboard BY511 NM-A541), it started when i turn on the laptop, but the lcd wont turn on, i then connected it via hdmi to tv and screen was ok. So i thought maybe lcd stripe is faulty, i removed the bottom cover, disconnected main battery, reset the cmos by disconnecting battery for 1 min, then slighty move the lcd stripe. Conncted power supply and tuned on my laptop, the lcd turn on, it started to load os, then it turn off, after a second it turn on, then after like 3 seconds turn off again, and so on. Removed power supply, waited...

                                            Hi all,

                                            I am working on a sound processor, it tends to overheat so I fitted a fan inside. The fan is connected to the +15V of the PSU via a DC-DC converter based on the LM2596 to reduce the voltage to around 10.5V.

                                            Unfortunately the analogue circuitry is picking up the noise from the fan in two ways:
                                            1. The fan is close to the analogue section, the motor itself gets into the outputs so I'll have to move it somewhere else
                                            2. Even with the fan running outside of the case, there is still some noise which is clearly going back to the processor via power line....

                                            To all the members here...

                                            Let me tell you a little bit about what happened to my laptop (MSI GF63 THIN 11UCX model: MS-16R6) that “maybe” you know how to solve this problem.

                                            So before this problem happened, my laptop was running smoothly. When I wanted to restart my laptop, it looked fine at first. But after I waited for this restart process to take a long time, until finally I panicked (because the restart process did not finish plus the laptop screen only showed a black screen), I immediately pressed and held the power button to force the laptop to turn off. But...

                                            Onkyo TX-SR805 noise in one channel
                                            by MegaZAC
                                            Surprisingly enough, this receiver doesn't have the DSP chip issue. The HDMI board does not get hot, and sound over HDMI works fine.

                                            Regardless of the input, the right channel has noise that is clearly noticeable even on average volume level. The only cases when there's no noise is when VCR input is selected (some tracks on the board are damaged, maybe that's why), or if HDMI input is selected but nothing plugged into it. In all other cases, even when no input is connected I still have the noise.

                                            There's some logic behind it. As soon as I select an input I get only left...

                                            Acer Aspire 4520 won't turn on after reboot

                                            Hello, I have an Acer Aspire 4520 from a couple of decades ago and I want to repair it solely for nostalgia.

                                            It happens that when I turn it on after having been disconnected for a long time, it turns on without problems, it tells me that the BIOS has been reset and that it will load the factory settings, if I tell it to continue, the computer turns on and everything works fine.

                                            The moment I turn it off and want to turn it back on a second time, or restart it and try to start it again, it no longer gives an image, and it no longer responds.

                                            If I remove the...
