        thank you

I need help with this elitebook 840 G8
      sn 5CG1445VST.
I have read it's ec ( probably) (on the back of the cpu ) but when choosing the chip i selected the wson 8*6 (3*256), after rewriting the new bios the pc didn't come on, and when i press the power button it blinks 7 times. i tries using a different chip but nothing. i even tried to use a firmware from the ones that are posted in this thread but nothing as well.
i will attache the file that i read, and i hope someone can help me. thank you

Doesn't matter if it's the same motherboard or not, it's a different model.
There is an existing thread for this model, find it and post your request there as per the rules.

Good day, I was reading through the forums and have found (maybe) a solution to my problem.

What I have gathered is that I need to remove the BIOS password first then edit DMI to remove SWAT lock?

Are absolute persistence = SWAT = computrace the same?

and lastly, how do I know which is the MAIN bios and the EC bios?

          Thanks!

okay, managed to figure out which is the Main and EC chip

            EC - Back of Processor
            MAIN - Near Processor

write only main chipset, at 1st boot press F10 to enter bios setup and restore factory defaults, save, then restore DMI with BCU.

thanks but I have a problem with my laptop now, I tried editing the EC bin myself and flashed a bin that I have downloaded here to my own chip. now my laptop wont turn on, only blinking light and 0.040-0.045 amps power draw. I flashed my back up bin file but it's still the same, my solder is good, what could be the problem?

maybe you didn't read correctly EC chip otherwise it should have worked if you write the original back. At G8 you have to modify main bios, not EC.

if i have read incorrectly, can I use another EC bin from others?

maybe, but you'll have problems with endpoint security. I don't know how to fix EC, maybe another member will help you to fix it.

tried flashing it with triple checking the bin files, now the laptop is flashing 7 times on capslock.

flash it again. in first boot press f10 , reset security settings to default. if you don't do that absolute wont be deactivated.
