I have managed to remove the error by "unclicking" default activate " Programming Status register."
But laptop is still not booting even with the original file...
I have another laptop (the same) that boot, maybe i can take another dump to send to the non working one? but what option to select to be sure to get things right?
thanks

Hi
thanks for the information, i know it, i didn't provide it because i though it was not relevant as it's just a problem of reading/writting a chip.
I didn't want to give useless informations as i have the program i want to send, but i don't understand where i did a mistake that prevent from booting?

Laptop not booting after reading/fashing bios chip
Hello
I had a laptop working (booting ok) but it was bios password lock.
I have dumped a bios chip GD25LB64C, modified the bin and injected back. (I have made the mistake to not unselect "OTP secu R" on read & flash).
Computer power led was lighting up but no screen at all (no logo or else), then computer led stop a few min later.
I tried to flash back the original unmodified dump, but same problem.... Computer doesn"t start.
Now i have an error on verify process (I try different thing (even erase the chip before)... -

Hello Guys,
I'm still having some troubles to remove a password on a bios chip. I have bought a new T48 (TL866II plus) because my batronix programmer didn't get it well...
Computer information:
Unowhy computer (NOT laptop)
UYM6524702229
SN: UYM6524702229
Art: T309475
I also get a UYM184E70E15
I have unsolder the W25Q256JV chip and get it on the T48, it was well reconnised.
As it is a unowhy computer, password seems "hide" in 2 places between “…AMITSESetup”...Leave a comment:

Re: Bios password removal on a Unowhy dump
Thanks for the help!
My adapter is a chinese one, i could find a better one at a decent price.
I have tested the pins, All 8 seems ok.
I'll try to find a better one, but i'm not sure it will be better.
Do you have another software to propose to see if i have better luck download and burn this chip with my batronix?
Also, do you have a software that could help me crack the password from the dump?
Many thanks !...Leave a comment:

Re: Bios password removal on a Unowhy dump
I managed to read the chip ... Programmer reconized the chip as
W25Q256 FV
W25Q256 JW
W25Q256 JV
It's written on the chip "JV" but when i read, file is empty. If i select "FV" or " JW" i get the same file, the good one.
I have modified it but when i try tu burn again the chip, i have an error with all the 3 chips selection
error is "Time uor error at adress 0/0h" when sotware is trying to erase the chip...
May be i should...Leave a comment:

Re: Bios password removal on a Unowhy dump
Hi,
Thanks for the answer, but the post is about the laptop, my computer is not laptop, so i'm not sure if it's applicable.
I did 4 reads, and i got all the same file, so read is ok, but maybe eeprom is not...
do you confirm that i should get the same dump from windows software and eprom reader?
