No, there is high voltage present. Connect the boards and tubes and to the wall outlet LAST.Comment

Re: Faulty Dell ST2210
I don't think that is necessary just to test the inverter. The Dell monitors I have experience with go into a self test feature check mode with the video cable disconnected so the back-light would be on. If it is connected to a computer that is OFF however, it will go directly into standby and no back-light.Comment

Re: Faulty Dell ST2210
welp, 1 hour has passed and the backlight from my old monitor is still on (damn, this thing is bright) so I guess I just have to order new tubes and replace them?
Update:pulled both the tubes out but broke both of them, they are stuck in really tight ._.Last edited by Razroid; 07-30-2014, 02:50 PM.Comment

Re: Faulty Dell ST2210
A bit irrelevant now though you could still try.
When there are only two lamps top and bottom the lamp at the top gets all the heat from the whole monitor as well as the heat from the bottom lamp and its own heat. Consequently this causes it to wear out more quickly.
For some reason swapping the bulbs over seems to stop the protection kicking in
so the bulbs light up.Please upload pictures using attachment function when ask for help on the repair

Might be a cool mod to do. (pun intended)Comment

by BowlineMy question pertains to understanding the control circuity inside a Dell PT434 type battery used in Dell E6400, E6410 and other Dell notebooks?
Does anyone have a circuit diagram for the inside of a Dell PT434 battery and/or a description of how the control lines work to control this battery?
My reason for asking is I have a battery which I cannot get to charge beyond 1% in a Dell E6410 or E6400.
The LED bar graph charge indicator on the battery shows one LED lighted when the info button is pressed.

by diamonI have a Dell Latitude 5530 with a damaged RJ45 network connector. See the attached pictures.
Have already searched on Farnell / Aliexpress / Ebay and had contact with several suppliers on Aliexpress and Ebay, but they cannot deliver this connector.
Is there someone inside the EU, who has these connector(s) or perhaps defective motherboard(s) for these laptop models I have mentioned in the topic title.

by lalle-Hello!
I have a problem with a Dell G5 SE 5505 laptop that I hope someone can give me a few pointers on.
[OK, it's not really a laptop, I'm running the motherboard on my desktop with only cooling, RAM and an M2 drive attached.]
I had some performance issues, so I decided to update my BIOS from 1.7.0 to the latest version, 1.20.0.
The computer restarted and the update dit not want to continue without a battery connected, even though I used dell's method of bypassing this requirement.

by federalhouseHi everyone,
I'm in need of assistance with a Dell Precision 5820 Tower. The BIOS is locked with "Dell Security Manager," preventing access to the HDD-1 hard drive.
**Background:**
I recently purchased this Dell Precision 5820 Tower from a recycler who salvages equipment from abandoned office spaces. The computer was left behind by its previous owner and was password locked. Given that it can run Windows 11, I saw this as an opportunity to upgrade my setup.
