most suppliers sell them, but not with prices that can compete with ebay.

Oh! (light bulb flickers on above head) I know what one is now. They are on some a/v editing gear for scrolling fwd/rev for example but I never realized how they worked.

I have the peak esr60 and 70. the 60 is the stby for the 70. never had either to lie in or out of circuit, maybe can happen but hasn't on any radio or tv I have used it on. I work on amateur radios as well and it just doesn't lie.

I got my ESR70 from eBay for $130 (AUD, which would be a lot more now since the USD has since risen from its low point, and I'm sure Mr. Abbott helped make the AUD plunge all by himself), bought brand new from US seller despite the devices being made in the UK.

For me as an amateur and hobbyist it will do.
Seems to be working, i tested a couple of known good/bad caps and the results are ok. Even found some caps to be bad that i was not planning to replace
Is any calibration on this things needed?
How do you get this menu for special functions like frequency generator?
Nice job with the acrylic shield btw
              so you have a T3 or T4.
              found some stuff for that.

That's the one. No any markings or logo ond the PCB.
Found some links in this thread:

Unfortunately, have no time to fiddle with this tester
What interface is needed to upload firmware into this?

AVR programmer - preferably a chinese USBasp
                  http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/261574745774

you will need to make a cable for the tester,
asp is 10pin, the tester is 6 and there is a second problem.
the T4 tester has the display right behind the pcb, so you need to lift the display a bit for safety before trying to solder to the board.

if it was me, i would get a right-angle 6pin connector or pinstrips, and cut them so they will be flush on the board, then lift the display and solder the pins.
                  then put the display back.

But I can't understand one part:
optional resistance and zero offset calibration of measuring equipment self-test capability of the port output (ATmega168 and ATmega328). Need a 100nF to 20uF capacitor connected to compensate the analog comparator between pins 1 and 3 of the offset voltage. This can reduce the measurement error 40uF above capacitor. With the same internal calibration capacitor voltage reference voltage is found to internal adjustment reference measurement ADC gain.

                    Help please

what are you refering to? the esr meter?
the display has plastic locating pins going through the board that are melted-flat on the underside.

                          you can probably ignore that.
if you want to recalibrate it, link all 3 wires together and push the button.
it will tell you when to put the cap in and when to remove it.

                              pcb standoff's
either there is something on the other side, or they have been fitted to raise the components off the table.

btw, it looks like a flexable design - i bet a rotary encoder would be easy to fit.

Exactly. Just plastic pins to raise PCB of the table.

                                  removing the button, 4 pins.
fitting the encoder, bending up one extra pin, cutting 2 tracks - maybe.
other than that - it fits directly onto the same footprint.

                                  here's one.

                                    Something went wrong.

                                    I ordered this:

                                    http://www.ebay.com/itm/181861030068

I've seen the following pic showing that the Test Clips are not included and was going to buy them separately...

                                    https://www.badcaps.net/forum/attach...1&d=1446559550

I could get them from here for example:

                                    http://www.ebay.com/itm/5-Pcs-5-Colo...item419a26c354

I got it yesterday. Turns out that the whole cable and the 3 pin plug were not included. I don't know how to search for it, is it proprietary plug?

Right now the only thing I could do is order the mini clips and then solder the cables direct on PCB.

If anyone knows where to buy it, please reply.

The one I got is exactly the same but came with the connector and three leads but no clips. I got it here:
                                      http://www.aliexpress.com/snapshot/6...69560471073177

I don't know what the exact spec is on the white connector but it looks like some I've seen for fans on video cards. The plug tends to work loose a little in handling but not a big deal.

T-happy probably made a mistake, i got one from them with the cable included in the packet.
contact them - they will probably send you the cable to keep good feedback.

I read EBOOK of Testing Electronic Component and found that

"In order to test the small blue resin coated ceramic disk capacitor which has 104 50v specification,it is possible to test this small ceramic capacitor by making use of analogue meter.
Set to times 10Kohm that has 12v output from the probe to check disorder of ceramic capacitor.
It is not uncommon that testing result of digital capacitance meter is okay,But It show shorted reading when you check it with analogue meter."

Is it really possible to test small ceramic disc capacitor with analogue...

                                            Hi

I want to change the scale of an analog meter, to monitor the charge of an li-ion single cell, so the needle at the end would point 4.2 volts and the 0 on the meter would point 2.5 volts or so, i tried to add diodes or a zener in series with the meter but the changes of the ambient temperature also changes the voltage value on the meter
I wonder how i can accomplish this so the meter would be precise at any temperature ?

About a month ago we had a transformer jumper wire that burned in two different places between two transformers caused over $200 thousand dollars worth of damage to VFD drives at least 10 of them and a memory card and quite a few power supply as well

Now we have most of the equipment that got damaged back up and running except a feeder that has issues and we are waiting for some parts for

Now we also have another piece of equipment that was blowing fuses on the 110 volt controller switch circuit with the “E” stops and one switching power (24 volt) supply and a transformer...

Greetings, new guy here but always interested in the crazy universe of modding

We just finished construction of around 25 vacation houses, all inside the same private area.
Each house has 3phase power , and we bought an atlas MK10 meter for each house (25 meters total ! )

The metering on a per-house basis is done privately. Its not done by a utility company. The utility company will only charge us for the total consumption of all 25 houses together.

Id like to do a small modification on the firmware of our MK10 to make it easier identify each house's...

I have had this in my wish list for quite a while now and I might need to test BMS protection board with this device because of the limitations of the battery testing machine that I have been using

What this will allow me to do is use my load testing machine that is having issues with the voltage cutoff set/ current meter monitoring system and I decided not to try to replace it or repair it I just going to use a very primitive load testing...
