No display no picture no menu blue screen only. Found sound by playing with inputs 12 v on tcon fuse good I am gonna try tcon first it's reletavly cheap. I got software I got drive just no way to read what's on screen to update it.good news was I was able to find input to change it to tv channels and find sound. It's either tcon or display from here....

Re: Phillips 65pfl6502
3.3 and 10 v on main, don't think power board. Blacklists come on and stay on no flicker or dead spots.

Phillips 65pfl6502
Phillips 65pfl6502 I came across this set stuck on ble screen, no menu no sound all inputs dead. I'm thinking main board. The tcon wouldn't stop sound. Right or wrong.

Re: Zenith Z50PJ240 Not turning on
have you checked any of the voltages, esp. sustain on y main and x main? assuming this is a plasma since you said logic board. voltages should be marked on power supply near the connectors. with no pictures and no voltages, all we can say is we aren't mind readers and your guess is as good as mine. never just start pulling and changing boards till you know which is bad. if you put another bad board in then you will end up with multiple problems. guess is always the last board you replace.

Re: Plasma TVs repair:Panasonic 50"ST50,Samsung 64"F8500
you might want to have him check esr on caps on ss and sc boards, if he has an esr meter. I have been scolded for saying this but I have fixed at least 4 pannys with bad caps. all were on the sc boards and tv sometimes would work perfectly and others 7 or 8 blinks.

here is a link to the Samsung parts down the page you will find e buffer,f buffer and g buffer. you didn't give the full model number so I used what you gave and this is the one I found. you would need to check the board numbers as well to make sure they are right. you only need the one directly under the black part of the screen.Re: Plasma TVs repair:Panasonic 50"S...XZA.html[/url]

Re: Plasma TVs repair:Panasonic 50"ST50,Samsung 64"F8500
power supply is doubtful as its working now, the samsung has three buffers at the bottom of the screen I found a picture of a pn64f8500 with the back off. they are e,f,g, buffers it will be the one directly under the black part of the screen. I don't have the same tv to tell how they come apart. but they do in three sections. now back to noisy ps I assume you mean static and snow in the picture? if so its probably dragging down by the bad boards. still you may need to adjust va and vs voltages due to a different...

Re: Plasma TVs repair:Panasonic 50"ST50,Samsung 64"F8500
could be either or both, look in the ser manual under picture distortion, yours isn't as bad but still its there. are you capable of checking the voltages on the vs and va? they may be too low. but the service manual only list the boards and in your case either or both.

Re: Plasma TVs repair:Panasonic 50"ST50,Samsung 64"F8500
the Panasonic could be ss or sc board related. unsure on that model Samsung but there should be address boards near the bottom of the screen. and it also could be damage to the board from liquid. the older sammys had replaceable boards newer may be made onto the cables. I have the service manual on the panny if you need it.

Re: PANASONIC TC-50PU54 Driving me crazy!!!
you will need to look at the specs on the cap or the chart that comes with the meter. it will vary on some but if it should be .5 esr and it goes to 1.5 then the esr is high. I bought a peak 70 a couple of yrs ago to replace a 60. the peak meters are high but I love mine.

Re: PANASONIC TC-50PU54 Driving me crazy!!!
yes, esr or equivalent series resistance is totally different from microfarads. if esr is high on a cap it wont work properly. you could replace the caps with a gen purpose cap and it probably isn't going to work at all, if it happens to it wont last long.. if I have a power supply that dosent have any visible damage I test the esr of the caps first.

Re: PANASONIC TC-50PU54 Driving me crazy!!!
did you check the esr on the caps. looking only tells if they are bulging or leaking.could be a bad su or sd board. esr is important on these sets. I had one that looked perfect to the eye but three caps on the sc board were very high esr. had the same symptoms once in a while it would start and when it did the colors weren't right or it looked like a negative pic in spots.

Re: My Hobby Light/Magnifier Stopped Working
so far mine are close to two kicking. I do have a spare pair though just in case. I don't remember what the wire colors were before I changed them out just two same color wires went to one 110 wire, only important thing on the install was the wire colors were right

Re: My Hobby Light/Magnifier Stopped Working
its one move you wont regret. I like the light from mine better now than the fluorescent tube anyhow. its a good bit brighter and a lot of ic numbers I couldn't read before I can see now.i have a 3k color in one and a 5k in the other and honestly I cant see any difference plus the 5k was about 15.00 more. I changed out about 2yrs ago, give or take a few months. the reason I did it was from a broken tube, no one knows how it got broken but it was a mess to clean up. there is probally a lot of fine glass still in the cracks of the floor....

Re: My Hobby Light/Magnifier Stopped Working
yes it has a driver circuit built into the lamp. read the instructions ballast and starter must be bypassed. I cant remember what the wires were coming out of the ballast but there were two white and black or red and black tie two of one color two one on the ac line in. its a led light not florescent a lot brighter than the florescent light with less wattage, they live a lot longer and run cooler. I changed over both of mine, one I left the ballast in the base because it simply adds weight to the base. its free standing the other clamps...

Re: My Hobby Light/Magnifier Stopped Working
here is what I did to the two I have. no ballast required just wire straight to the bulb and extra light to boot. and no more flickering.
