    Vizio e322vl wont turn on

Hello all, I have recently purchased a non-working Vizio E322VL in hopes of getting it to work, and just something to waste time on. But the problems it's been having are really puzzling me. It has a solid orange Vizio logo (doesn't even flash like on most vizio tv's.) And when you press the power button, it doesn't respond in any way. [Even stays orange.] I've taken off the back and looked for any puffed capacitors, but none are visible. I've even shorted the power button pins, thinking maybe that was the problem, to no success.

I'm quite a novice, but I can solder anything as long as it's not surface-mount.

Note: I've already tried reseating connectors/cables, and I do not yet own a multimeter to test voltages, but I may be able to borrow one next week :/ And I also really don't feel like paying $50 for a new motherboard.

    Any help would be appreciated.

It may be EEPROM problem but we should at least see the DC Voltage readings on the connector of the power supply board that goes to the main board first to see waht condition they are in.
You need to the report the readings in this format: Pin name follows by Voltage reading when TV is OFF, and when Power switch is activated
    Example:
Pin name (I.E. 5V), TV OFF = xxV, TV ON = xx V
BTW: Upload good clear pictures of the whole backside of the TV showing all the boards will help too.

I'm not even sure which pins are which, because they're not really labeled.

Finally got my hands on a multimeter. Here are the voltages:

I checked all the voltages (especially the 0's) a few times to ensure accuracy.
                Shouldn't there be 12v somewhere??

                cn201-1: 5.4v
                cn201-2: 5.4v
                cn201-3: 5.4V

I'd really like to know if these sets, with logo etc first then a blank screen wait until they really start, use a separate memory chip for that logo bit with eeprom kicking in after. Here we have the inverter working with stalled logo showing but PSU not fully turned on probably due main board signal not yet activated because of bad eeprom. Probably the shopjimmy pair would be the fix but much care needed in removal and replacement soldering.

That is a the info budm seeking. The pins should be marked or have a legend nearby or sometimes under the board.

I think he meant to add the pin name to list. Here you go:

                                    1. 5.2vsb : 5.4v
                                    2. 5.2vsb : 5.4v
                                    3. 5.2vsb : 5.4V
                                    4. gnd : 0V
                                    5. gnd : 0v
                                    6. gnd : 0v
                                    7. gnd : 0v
                                    8. 12v : 0v
                                    9. 12v : 0v
                                    10. 12v : 0v
                                    11. pson : 0v
                                    12. i-on/off: 0v
                                    13. lamp : 0v
                                    14. dim : 0v

                                    Edit:
Turn unit off (unplug), put probe on lamp(#13), power on, press on button. Did lamp ever change?
                                    Do same for pson.

Can be done OK with soldering iron but best to watch some videos first - basically add a bit of solder to legs first then melt solder and gently prise up legs one side then work on the other side - must avoid damage to board tracks/attachment points.
