    emerson 32" lc320em1

I have a emerson lc320em1 that flashes a green light the screen comes on for about 2 seconds then shuts off and the red standby light comes on. all the caps look good. If i unplug the video board the tv still flashes the green light 10 or 12 times but it stays on. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

This was actually the first TV I fixed in my foray into TV troubleshooting. Mine wasn't powering on at all. There are 4 or 5 diodes on the power supply that are notorious for going bad, could be your issue as well.

Trying to upload some pics of the boards but I keep getting a server error. I will load some by the end of the day. I do have a dmm but it's dcm it will test ac, dc, continuity and amps.

Found this today, not sure if it helps.

Seems to be the same model.

Looks identical on the outside but the internals look different. It could be the same issue I will test the items he described in his article. Thanks for the help

                      could be a bad capacitor.

None of the caps look bad and if any were in question I replaced them. If I disconnect a ribbon cable between the power supply and the video board it will turn on and stay on but no picture. That's the only wire I remove and it works without picture

This seams to be a common problem with this model tv. I find it hard to believe no one has figured it out

Need pics and P/N's of your boards. I have one of these that has the PSU/Backlight inverter all in one.

There were numerous failed diodes, resistors, and a mosfet. When psu failed it damaged mainboard also.

I got lucky and found both boards from a seller on ebay.

Check the inverter wires for shorts circled in red.

Did you ohm out the inverter transformers ? May be a bad one or two...

No shorts, tested all one at a time and they all light up individually and all at the same time. I have not done an ohm test on the inverter transformers. Your talking about the black square with copper coils right.
