  • Re: Older Sanyo DP50747 VE Voltage High

No image or screen charging with x Main disconnected.

I unhooked the LVDS cable to X and powered on, still no image but VE is now correct at 94 as is all other volts, VA,VScan, VS, 5 and 12 volts all good.

Even though the indicator led is flashing once per second, I am beginning to think that both of the logic boards I have are faulty.

  • Re: Older Sanyo DP50747 VE Voltage High

Did some more testing, found if I disconnect the panel ribbons to X-main and power on VE is right on rated volts 93v. But if the ribbons are connected when powered on then it jumps to 137 and still no screen lighting.

    Has the panel gone bad?

  • Older Sanyo DP50747 VE Voltage High

Working on an old Sanyo 50" that has Samsung innards. Backstory.. saved from dumpster years ago, partial recap on SMPS, Replaced one of two small caps on X-main, set worked great for about 3 years.

Then recently it started to take a few minutes from power on to display a pic and sound, worked like that for about 3 months, then Smps would click once and then nothing, it will not shut itself off but nothing happens.

So pulled PS replaced all the caps, even the large mains. PS works and has all stable rated voltages present when switched on. TV has sound (static) when...

I tried plugging in all cables, that just changes the timing of the clicks. I think I found the problem, getting unusual readings in circuit on a Mosfet that is in the VS circuit. Cannot read markings on it yet so not sure what type it is.

Problem is its attached to a large heatsink that overhangs the part and attaching screw is behind a large transformer. Will have to work on getting everything de-soldered to get it out for testing.

According to the video I watched, the guy powered it up on the bench with...

I don't have a good pic of my board, camera is old and crappy. If it is acceptable I can use the pics off SJ. they have way better pics than I can take.

There are no visibly damaged parts or traces other than the bulged caps.
This one is hard to trace as the paths jump from top to bottom of board and go under other components.

Have tested all mosfets and diodes connected to heat sinks, main rectifier, all diodes and in process of testing transitors and optocouplers. None have given any shorted...

  • Phillips 50pfp5332d/37 PSU LJ44-0144A

Hello All, So I am working on the PSU of said tv, got it free, opened it up, saw 4 or 5 obviously swollen caps and a blown AC main in fuse T8AH250v. Inspected all components and have found no visibly damaged parts. When I removed the 2 large voltage caps 270uf 450v found one to be slightly melted on positive leg and both rattled when shaken.

So ordered new fuses and all caps, replaced every electrolytic on the board and the fuse with correct series and ratings and polarity. Powered on through light bulb tester, with only ac voltage applied, no other cables connected to PSU....

  • Re: panasonic TC-L58E60 has scrolling picture

Does the OSD and or menu scroll also or just the actual picture being displayed?

Looking at first pic it seems like the time/date bar is ok but picture is scrolling, if that's the case I would be inclined to suspect the mainboard or corrupt eeprom maybe.

One other thing needs noted about plugging in HDMI cables or devices to the TV while either is powered on. This is a big no no, every manual I have read states to turn off both TV and device being connected. I don't think most people think about this when connecting...

That's the most damage I have seen from led burning out. Was it hit by lightning?

  • Re: Samsung JU6500 Problems

vertical lines or bars is usually a sign of failed tab drivers, ribbons or tab bonding to the panel. You could try a known working T-con if it is a separate board to see if the original is bad, but sounds like a bad panel.

    Any pics of fault?

  • Re: Rca led65g55r120q lvds ribbon fubar

No it wasn't a tab bonded cable, it runs from T-Con to panel driver board. has flip connectors at each end.

So I searched the internet and found a ham radio site where a guy had done about the same thing as I did, but on a fewer contact ribbon. His was long enough as was mine to cut off the fubared section. Saving the blue connector support, it was held on by heat sensitive adhesive.

Then ribbon was taped down to a flat metal surface, then the next step was the most time consuming part. I took an exacto...

  • Rca led65g55r120q lvds ribbon fubar

Working on a RCA 65" had a bad LED on one strip. Fixed that, but in the process of re-assembly I FUBARed one of the LVDS ribbon connections that go from T_Con to panel driver board. Its a KaiQun E356155 80 connector ribbon.

How can I repair this as I am having a difficult time finding a replacement ribbon long enough. Thanks....

  • Re: JVC tv Power Supply Caps Question

There are only 5 of the Lelons on the board. The rest are Rubycons, or UCC.

I think I will replace the lelons and leave the others alone. Have done other cap replacements so no problems there. Thanks.

"Anyone have advice on removing streaks from the screen? I was using some proper cleaner and cloth but it appears to be quite difficult to completely remove, though I do not notice anything when the tv is on it looks clean and clear but when off and shining a light it is noticeable."

I have had good results with Ronsonal lighter fluid. NOTE AND DISCLAIMER>>>>> THIS IS FLAMMABLE>> DO NOT USE ON A LIVE SET<<

But it does evaporate fairly quickly and wont damage...

  • JVC tv Power Supply Caps Question

Received a free JVC tv, would not power on. Testing revealed startup cap for stby volts bad, a 1uf 50v Lelon electrolytic. Replaced the one cap and all is good, tv now works.

My question is would it be a good measure to replace all of the caps on the psu, it has a mixture of Nichions and Lelons for more longevity? It was manufactured in 2008.

Can you help me with some abbreviations people use, like RC ND TP, I do not know what they stand for. Is there a list that people here use?
Also, I'm looking for parts, here in the USA, can you suggest which should I buy from?
    Thanks!

  • Re: Samsung UN32F5500 smart TV no backlight

Yes LED's are in series. Each led takes about 3v sometimes a little more volts DC. If one fails none will light up.

  • Re: Vizio E320-A0

Usually for Vizio there are different versions of PSU's that will work for multiple TV's.

Mainboards are a different matter, it all depends on the panel and T-con for compatibility. I have 2 different models of 32" Vizio's, a E320VL and an E321VA. PSU's will swap as connections and output volts match. But the mainboards have totally different LVDS connection locations.

Most of the time the factory remote is necessary to access the service menu.

Have you tried entering the 062598 menu sequence to see?
