Re: Sharp Aquos LC52SE94U hit by surge

I was just asking a general question Selldoor. I know very little and trying to learn. My question was asking if TO262 is a case type? If so what is the definition of a TO262 case?

TO262 is a case format. It's like the TO220 but the metal tab is missing, it's primarily used in surface mount applications (like TO263, known as D2PAK.)
      You want TO220 format.

Just make sure the tab is isolated.

Thanks Tom66, just came from wiki, looks to me like TO-220F. Can u confirm or does it matter?

So is there a parts list or not, all I could find for rdenca231wjqz was 'unit replacement item'.
Need to spec ic for next step.

                      They are almost certainly N-MOSFETs.

Having difficulty finding anything to match IC7800 that drives the damaged MOSFET Q7808
It's an ST brand with designation DAS001/ on the top line and EZ807 below.

Incidentally the other MOSFET Q7805 paralleled by source pins is driven by IC7801 which is an ST L6562D ( lower line EZ810) it's easy to find.

Sorry if I confused you but didnt want you buying the wrong one.
Thing is that almost all the ones listed on Ebay say that it is a P channel
That does correspond with the "P" as part of the part number. Then I realised
that the ones we had seen were all N channel and it does seem odd that the marking for both is the same - still has me wondering anyway follow Tom and Budm on that.
Whilst it is not confirmed I think the das001 is a TSM103 - It was suggested by Ben7 and also appears with the dual description on some schematics if you google images for it

Thanks Selldoor , no worries I find confusion a normal part of the learning process. Any idea where to find a data sheet for the das01 or cross reference to TSM103?

Tom66 can u find the Q7808 on your RDENCA231WJQZ board,I was unsuccessful in finding it on the schem?
Would be on the sink rail near the Q7805...

Thanks anyway Tom66 I have confirmed it does not exist on that board nor does the second coil l7802 under the cage.

I have ordered a new MOSFET but do not have a scope to check the L6552 (IC7801) oscillator that drives the gate. Any suggestions?

So your board is not the same as the one from Shopjimmy that we were using to troubleshooting your board? it does not have Dual PFC circuits?
I will not taking a chance of installing the new MOSFET without replacing the IC, if the the out put of the IC is stuck on HI (instead of turning the MOSFET ON-OFF), it will cause your new MOSFET to blow, so makes sure to leave the lamp in place of the fuse.
Your picture in post 18 I see two MOSFETs and two PFC diodes though.
