Re: vizio v037l fhdtv20a no picture
Part is on the way and i did get it out. Had to use a razorblade if that helps anyone else. Just get between the board and regulator and gently slide it off while heating both sides. Will post update when i get the new regulator.Comment

I cut out the two small legs first, no need to take it out as a whole and be real careful not to un-solder the resistors close by.Never stop learning

I have the same vizio model that you have, I've been working on it, you can go here to see whats going on with mine.

you say you soldered in a fuse and now you have a lighted screen, Is the screen blue or white?
I just read one of your earlier post, if you don't get the PSON 3.3V without the resistor from the 5v then you probably will need to replace the Main Board or try to reflow it in the oven, please read all of my posts by clicking the link I posted here.Last edited by MisterD; 12-06-2012, 10:11 PM.Comment

Re: vizio v037l fhdtv20a no picture
Here's a quote from tom66: "It could be a problem with the large heatsinked processor. Perhaps BGA bonding issues. You can try reflowing it in the oven. I brought an Nvidia GPU back to life doing that. But remember to use flux. Lots of flux".
If I try that I will use lots of flux trying to get a lot under the Large GPU that's under the Black Heat Sink, keeping the board flat at all times until cooled down, never push down on the heatsink while its real hot from the oven, BGA is Ball Grid Array meaning little balls of solder between the GPU and the board making the connection of the two, If this method works I'm not sure how long it will last. It could be indefinitely or who knows.Last edited by MisterD; 12-07-2012, 08:33 AM.Comment

Re: vizio v037l fhdtv20a no picture
I can't remember which one is what but one of those fuses is on 5v supply and the other is 12v supply, you can check them for continuity with an ohm meter to see if either one is open, or check voltages on both sides of each fuse to verify they are good. If one or both fuses are bad you may have created a short somewhere while re-soldering the regulators. I messed up my main board doing a heat gun re-flow but it wasn't working right anyway,I ordered a replacement board and waiting on it to arrive. Good Luck with yours.Last edited by MisterD; 12-12-2012, 08:18 PM.Comment

by csmithI replaced the backlights all good. Two months later set was dead, had a shorted D9100, replaced all good again.
Now months later set powers up,backlights light ok,no picture. 12volts missing from fuse on tcon. 12VA on power
supply is 19 volts. Changed D9100 again, same, 12 volts measures 19. Am I looking at a power supply or mainboard

by gavricHello, i am working on Vizio M70-C3. It can hardly power on, it takes 15 power button presses or remote. Seems like eeprom problem that I seen before but all reading online says that this tv has power board or main board problem.
When tv powers on vizio V logo shows nice on whole screen. picture 1
When it goes into tv mode it only shows good picture on left side of screen, right is all scrabbled up. pic 2
When i start youtube picture shows on left side fine, right is all scrambled. pic 2

by ggil44Hi I inherited a Vizio M65-E0 that isn't working. It must have been dropped on the corner because I found that the infrared circuit had a capacitor with one end broken off of the board and some green corrosion around the plug to the main board. I re-soldered the capacitor and cleaned the corrosion well and tried turning the M65-E0 on and I was successful. My problem is that while the back lights come on and appear to perform local dimming there is no picture or sound. It kind of looks like you are looking at the TV through a very dense fog, where changing the input on the remote will change bright...

by maricmHI all,
hope someone point to the possible issue before I start buying replacement parts.
Tv starts normal and responds to remote fine, PSU voltages mesured fine 19v was 18.9V under load and 19V with main board disconnected.
Backlight stays on all the time,
Sound works fine.
screen keeps changing form black to full picture in about 1sec intervals.
Picture looks fine with no visible artifacts.
I have disconnected backlights and flashlight test confirmed that picture is still doing the same.

Hi,
I have a VIZIO E70-E3.
Symptoms: Black screen, no picture, but LED backlights are working.
I probed the power board and voltages are as listed on the board.
Main board appears fine, too.
I believe the problem is either a bad T-CON board, or connection to LCD, or bad LCD.
There are two separate ribbon cables feeding the LCD.
If both are connected, the screen is black.
If only the ribbon cable that feeds the right side of the screen (when viewed from the front) is disconnected, the left side of the screen shows picture and... - Loading...
