  • Re: Samsung UN70NU6900 red light two blinks

Hi, i did watch those videos and i did tape method and tv fired up eventually. there are 4 boards on bottom of screen. last board to the right is one causing the problem. when i put tape and cover 1 or 2 traces i get good pictures but color is washed out on one half of the screen. if i block off more traces i get good colors but get some lines on top of the screen. i checked all components on that last 4th board and only one little capacitor was giving sound on multimeter when checked with multimeter in diode mode....

Hello, i just got in UN70NU6900 and it is doing same thing, when any one ribbon cable is disconnected tv stays on and plays Samsung music and i can hear clicks when remote is pressed. This model does not have tcon board and same results happen if left or right ribbon is disconnected and same with actual ribbon between boards that go into screen.
What were you about to look for next or test next?

I would be pissed off really bad if my not even 2 years old tv crapped out on me like this....

If you just remove and not replace leds your final result and picture will be bad. You will have bad missing lighting and it will glow weird and it will look like crap.

On that board Zsus those copper coils often get cracked solder joints under them. You need to try to re solder them and see what happens. If not that boards is cheap and just order one and replace it....

  • Re: TCL 50S425 Roku TV Boot Loop

I had tv like this, it was hisense, about same as tlc. It was acting like it could not go past TV brand logo. It turned out it was bad capacitor on the screen buffer board that was heating up in like 2-3 seconds and causing the short. I found it by taking tv apart and then going and looking at these buffer boards that are attached to the screen. Actual small surface mount capacitor would get so hot that it would melt solder and all this in 2-3 seconds and then solder would cool and all over boot process every 5 or so seconds....

This is why sellers on eBay have problem with buyers buying and then blaming sellers for bad parts when seller provided great service with shipping and sent perfectly working part. Now days its always bad part and not bad repair diagnosis. You never questioned bad diagnosis here in this post, just went right after seller that sent GOOD part....

  • Vizio M70-C3 Half picture is bad, main board on its last leg?

Hello, i am working on Vizio M70-C3. It can hardly power on, it takes 15 power button presses or remote. Seems like eeprom problem that I seen before but all reading online says that this tv has power board or main board problem.

When tv powers on vizio V logo shows nice on whole screen. picture 1
When it goes into tv mode it only shows good picture on left side of screen, right is all scrabbled up. pic 2
When i start youtube picture shows on left side fine, right is all scrambled. pic 2
When i click video to start playing picture goes black(like when you change...

  • Re: Vizio M65-F0 white light flashing on screen

I have same tv model that had appearance of 1/4 of horizontal backlight to be out just as picture bellow. After replacement of burned out led on that strip strip works but now it is flashing half of the strip that was initially out, same as original poster. It seems to be that led driver is bad because now swapping places with original strip it makes is flash also. I ordered led driver board 0171-2471-0172 and will update result when i see how it goes....

  • Re: e701i-a3 no picture but backlights

I have performed same fix and picture came back. I watched tv for about 2 months and yesterday on the bottom of the screen thin horizontal line appeared. See photos. Line does change colors every once in a while. When i was removing tabls I removed completely board and ribbon cable tabs and they came off nice and clean. I am not sure what is happening with this line now. Is maybe place where i cut off ribbons shorted between those microwires? Is there board on other side of screen and what would taking off of those boards do (opposite side...

  • Re: LOW D+ voltage to leds Samsung PS BN44-00666A

    UPDATE:

Replacement of power supply has resolved dim picture issues and voltage going to leds is at 130VDC at brightest setting. I have it set in backlight controls at 12 out of 20 and its is well bright and it is running at 112VDC. Seems as if initial bad led somehow damaged power supply and after replacement of led light strip there was still problem with power supply that caused low brightness of screen.

    Thank You for your help.

Thanks for your reply, on led tester led is being powered on by 2.5 VDC and it glows bright. i have already ordered replacement power supply at cost of $20. its not worth messing around to try to fix it. Will update results here. Thanks

That is why they burn up, when they are straight from the box set to backlight on highest for perfect picture apperance + will keep consumers coming back to buy new tvs after 2-3 years.

  • Re: LOW D+ voltage to leds Samsung PS BN44-00666A

    strip part number is BN96-28766A

on led strip tester original 2 leds strips when tested on actual leads to screen are using 35.1 VDC and replacement is pulling 32.4, not sure what is happening because replacement strip difference is only version number on it, replacement strip is later version. same size, same shape, same number of leds, 13 per strip. Output of power supply i get 96VDC where i would need 102Vdc for full brightness.

  • Re: LOW D+ voltage to leds Samsung PS BN44-00666A

Thank You for reply, At cap CM808 I get 218-220VDC when everything is hooked up. After checking around ps board i have found that 4 diodes that are close to that cap CM808 are not acting as diodes, multimeter on diode mode dont even register them in either way when power is off. all 4 seem to be interconnected somehow and i am not sure if this messes up regular diode testing way. voltage on one side of diode is different that other side. example of most drastic on is - one side of diode is 247vdc and chassis ground , other side...

  • LOW D+ voltage to leds Samsung PS BN44-00666A

Hello, i am working on Samsung 40led tv with power supply BN44-00666A . Tv had no backlight and upon replacing 1 complete led strip all of the leds inside tv power on now but not to full brightness.

Voltage to leds should be 135 VDC as per print found on ps but I am getting 96 VDC across D+ and chassis ground. If led connector is disconnected i get 215 VDC on D+ and chassis ground. With led strip tester all leds turn on nice and bright at 102 VDC

All leds test out good and power on together but not to full bright even when backlight is set to max. When I purchased replacement...

  • Re: LG 70LB7100 Led Strip Replacement Question

Current feeding all strips together is about 1.1 amp at 52VDC. I am running 9 leds on strip section and feeding 52VDC to it. All together 128 leds in this screen. Power supply is rated at 3.42Amps. Sound good?

  • Re: LG 70LB7100 Led Strip Replacement Question

    Thanks for this explanation.

I need to ask one question to understand something about this +Led and two VC lines on each led strip (3 wires to led strip) Is there any way to connect VC to other VC on power supply and trick power supply to think that everything is OK.

Like on some samsungs where there is only two wires going to led stip array but on power supply there is 4 outputs and two leads in the middle are connected to each other. If those wires in middle are not connected tv does not...
