Re: Repairing Alesis M1 MK2 Monitor Speakers
When you say the connector is covered with some heatshrink are you referring to the very front of the jack connectors where the XLR or 1/4" plug goes into the jack? One of these speakers had something like that and the other one didn't, but my Nephew took these to Guitar Center to try to sell them and they somehow pulled off one of the heatshrink covers and then said it wasn't there to begin with and then didn't want to purchase the Speakers because of exposed metal contacts but these brand new replacment connectors here...

https://www.neutrik.com/en/neutrik/products/xlr-connectors/xlr-chassis-connectors/combo-i-series There are many variations of these, I haven't pulled mine out of the speaker cabinet to look at them yet. they could be pc board mounted instead of hard wired. I also wonder if they have a part number on them, they could be made by Nutrik, I'm not sure.Re: Repairing Alesis M1 MK2 Monitor ...i-series...

Repairing Alesis M1 MK2 Monitor Speakers
I have a pair of these Speakers given to me that seem to work fine and I haven't used anything like these before and my only way of testing them was to use a standard 1/4" guitar cord and I also used a 3 pin XLR cord, My Acoustic Guitar has both and it has a built in preamp. the jacks on the speaker cabinets have exposed contacts and it appears that the plastic dust covers are broken and gone..I have found these on ebay...https://www.ebay.com/itm/2-Pack-Neutrik-NCJ6FI-S-Combo-3-Pin-XLRF-1-4-Inch-Stereo-with-Solder-Cups/330915900629
but I'm not sure if these are the correct...Last edited by MisterD; 03-05-2021, 11:37 AM.

Re: Vizio M370NV Powers on for 2 seconds then shuts down
I bought a non working non tested board from ebay, I replaced the eeprom on it. that did not fix it..with this board the tv will not power on...I am thinking about..installing this new eeprom in the original main board that did turn the tv on with back lights but it would power back off in 2 to 3 seconds..what do you think?...

Re: Vizio M370NV Powers on for 2 seconds then shuts down
I was cheap and bought a non tested Main Board. this one does show the Vizio Logo and will not power on the TV. I don't want to put much money into this tv, so now I am debating on buying a replacement eeprom and trying that for this board or not fixing it at all.

Re: Vizio M370NV Powers on for 2 seconds then shuts down
Thanks Bud, I am just reading all of these posts. I have ordered a non tested main board that didn't cost much, as i don't want to put much money into this vizio. I have no intentions of opening up the panel and taking a chance on possible damage. like you said that is the last thing i will do. I will post on here how it went. will be a few days before the main board arrives. as always I appreciate your help with this TV and several others that you have helped me with in the past....

Re: Vizio M370NV Powers on for 2 seconds then shuts down
Shopjimmy is Not offering any Technical Assistance and they do not plan on doing so in the future.also I tried to get a discount from them since they have 9 of these Main Boards( Vizio 3637-0582-0395) in stock, but got turned down for that too....Last edited by MisterD; 08-09-2019, 01:30 PM.

Re: Vizio M370NV Powers on for 2 seconds then shuts down
I unplugged both flat ribbon cables that come out of the main board to the panel, still had backlights without the vizio logo on screen of course no video with them unplugged...tv powered off within 2 to 3 seconds just as before....

Re: Vizio M370NV Powers on for 2 seconds then shuts down
Is that integrated in with the Panel? if so should I remove the 2 flat ribbon cables coming out of the Main board and power on the tv to see what happens?...Last edited by MisterD; 08-08-2019, 02:42 PM.

Re: Vizio M370NV Powers on for 2 seconds then shuts down
I was thinking a bga problem myself, I tried cold spray on the large chip shielding, also tried heating up the chip and eeprom, and going back and forth with both cold and heat. none of this made a difference....I have a question, if I unplug both ribbon cables that go to the panel will that have any affect on the tv staying powered on? i was just wanting to try that in case there was a short somewhere going to the panel....also I don't see a T-Con board anywhere on this TV and none are listed on Shopjimmy...

Re: Vizio M370NV Powers on for 2 seconds then shuts down
With the resistors hooked up, mainboard disconnected and the power supply and backlights forced on then yes the backlights will stay on then as long as the TV is plugged in.....but with mainboard plugged back in to normal, the TV will power on and shows the Vizio Logo on the screen (backlights are on too) but the TV will power itself back off within 2 or 3 seconds...the amber vizio logo is normal..amber when tv is off and white when tv is on....Last edited by MisterD; 08-08-2019, 09:56 AM.
