I have a ProBook 650 G8 with a BIOS password, and I used this script:
      https://www.badcaps.net/forum/troubl...y-bios-patcher

Everything went without errors, and the BIOS dump is "patched" (I compared it with the backup and can clearly see the changes). However, when I turn on the laptop, I get a message saying that the BIOS data has been recovered, and unfortunately, the password remains.

I tried running the "HP_Factory_Mode_Full_Script" as well as each of the individual scripts from the archive. Unfortunately, I’m getting the same result. The script is 100% working—it changes the HP_MPM status, and it worked on another HP laptop. I just created a backup using HP BCU and then restored the serial numbers back. I'm very grateful for this script! I used to do all of this manually and didn’t even know such tools existed.

But for some reason, on this ProBook 650 G8, I’m having this issue—the password doesn’t disappear, MPM doesn’t activate, and I only get a message saying the BIOS has been recovered, no matter what I do.

Please, I’m asking for help—what am I doing wrong?
Below I’m attaching the patched BIOS and EC dump, with which the laptop turns on and works, but the password still remains.

Hi, I managed to solve the password problem! The BIOS version was too "fresh," specifically from late 2024. So, I decided to use dumps from another identical laptop, clean the ME region, and use them on this one. There were some issues and errors in Intel FIT (Error 179: [Fit Actions] Failed to parse CSE region), but I managed to fix those as well, thanks to the WinRAID forum. If something isn't working out, I recommend just using dumps from another laptop; it worked for me.

        I also noticed that the script somehow doesn't change the MPM state. Here's what it should look like in Hex (search for "HpMpm" in the dump): 48 00 70 00 4d 00 70 00 6d 00 00 00 00 23 01 00 02 00 00 00 aa 55 3f

Nice work..but in the end you didn "t unlock your own dump, you just replaced it with another one, hence the errors.

Good day, dear hoaca388. Before disassembling the laptop, I made a backup using HpBCU "/GetConfig:". In the donor dump, I modified the HpMpm state using a hex editor and then restored the serial numbers using the same HpBCU tool. I'm still learning. I’m not doing this professionally. I just work at a recycling company, and sometimes we receive laptops, but usually it's Zebra printers and Elo monitors. So I don’t have much experience.

                I have a HP ProBook 650 G8 with a message stating "Devicefreeze-9" and states that it's reported lost/stolen.

Anyway to remove that? I am attaching EC / SPI ROM in hopes that someone can help me clear it.

Thank you, I flashed my SPI ROM with the file you provided and it went through a BIOS update screen and went back to the same lock screen after it was completed.

Thank you, I tried and it is the same results. I am attaching pictures of how it looked. It booted into Windows desktop briefly and then showed the lock again.

                              Hello

While desoldering the EC ROM chip, I damaged it and can't read it. Is it possible to upload new firmware to a new chip? Right now I have a laptop that won't turn on, and I'm wondering if it's possible to replace the firmware.

I flashed two firmware files — main and EC — but the same problem persists: Caps Lock and Num Lock blink 7 times. Can anyone help me find the correct main and EC firmware for this model?

I am trying to remove bios password for HP ProBook 650 G8.
I've looked at one video on youtube and i replaced nvramactiveregn with FF saved the file write it back and it didn't work as the password was still there
Then i found out multiple 2 more nvram so i replaced the second one with FF. wrote it back and now the laptop doesn;t turn on. tried to put the original backup file.. still doesn;t work.
Tried to use the rcunlocker but its asking for 16mb but mine is 32 which one user said you have to split it 2 use the rcunlocker and combine it back but i don;t know to to split in two(maybe someone can eli5 this step)

                                      Dear All,

Hope that this post is at the right place of the forum.

I am seeking help and technical advice to remove bios admin password from HP ProBook 4520s.

The laptop is operating normally and, I am not facing any major issue with it except; the bios admin password that I found about by coincidence only few weeks back.

As the laptop is operating normally, I am reluctant to take it to a workshop to de-solder the bios chip in order to read it by an external programmer, as I am not an expert in doing such a thing.

                                      After...

[REQUEST] Dell G3 3579 BIOS Password & AMI Protected Range/BIOS Guard Unlock
                                      by zenius
Hello, I have an old Dell G3 3579 (ST: 2WQ7LP2-8FC8) with a newer 8FC8 BIOS password. I have successfully attached to the flash chip (W25Q128JVSQ) on the motherboard with a CH341A programmer and made several modifications using Intel FIT (e.g., allow software SPI write) without bricking. I was also able to boot to a modified GRUB shell where I attempted to edit many BIOS security related options like BIOS Guard/Lock, Flash Signature Override, ME FW Image Re-Flash, etc.

Unfortunately, some of these modifications like to Intel BIOS Guard failed because it is fused into the PCH. Also,...

                                      TONGFANG "GM7TG7P" Bios Password Problem?
                                      by traxformania
                                      Hello,

I'm using TONGFANG "GM7TG7P" model laptop for over 3 years and i'm entering the same bios administrator password everyday. My laptop has Aptio BIOS (American Megatrends, AMI).

But today it's not accepting my password. I'm %100 sure i'm entering the correct password.

I'm trying to reset my bios without success.

                                      I tried :

-I removed the BIOS battery and main battery. Waited for a long time but it didn't work. They already stated in the user manual that the password will not be reset even if the batteries...
