Hi.
I've used HPunlocker multiple times and never had a problem. Now I'm trying to unlock the 840 G5, the program generates the _unlocked file but after playing it to memory the password is still there. will you help?Last edited by SMDFlea; 04-10-2023, 12:54 PM.Comment

Does anybody know how to activate the manufacturing program mode (MPM) of an 840 G5 Motherboard. I need to change the system unique data after replacing the motherboard.

Hi there! I am attempting to remove the bios password from a decommissioned Elitebook 840 G5. I came across post #56 of this thread which fit my laptop's criteria exactly, and followed the directions offered by the response in post #57. I used a ch341a with the BIOS chip soldered onto the adapter to read and verify the original bios and then used the HPUnlocker v1 program to generate the unlocked bin file (both attached here). I rewrote the unlocked file to the chip and then soldered back into place on the motherboard.
After putting it together, I'm now experiencing an issue where the capslock button light and power button are flickering (see image ezgif-2-da60db5cdd.jpg). I read that this might be an indication of a bios corruption and I tried to do the Win+B during startup to see if it would reset it, but to no avail. I'm hesitant to desolder and reflash the bios again due to how difficult it was for me to get it back into place, but I will do it if it means I'll have a working laptop again.

Sorry for the long story. I have a Dell Latitude 5530 (i7) laptop (South Peak 15 MLK MB DDR4 203102-1 FK8VG$JA) with an admin BIOS password that I want to remove. Service Tag: HYKFPT3. Other than that the laptop worked OK.
I found a CH341A Black and went looking for the BIOS chip on the motherboard. After trying to read one chip that was a firmware chip but not the BIOS I think I found the BIOS chip labeled Winbond 25Q256JVEN. Altogether I think I found 4 different firmware chips in the laptop. The BIOS chip is a WSON8 6x8. I used the CH341A, NeoProgrammer, and a cheap pogo pin clip... -
Hello, I have an old Dell G3 3579 (ST: 2WQ7LP2-8FC8) with a newer 8FC8 BIOS password. I have successfully attached to the flash chip (W25Q128JVSQ) on the motherboard with a CH341A programmer and made several modifications using Intel FIT (e.g., allow software SPI write) without bricking. I was also able to boot to a modified GRUB shell where I attempted to edit many BIOS security related options like BIOS Guard/Lock, Flash Signature Override, ME FW Image Re-Flash, etc.
Unfortunately, some of these modifications like to Intel BIOS Guard failed because it is fused into the PCH. Also,... -

I'm using TONGFANG "GM7TG7P" model laptop for over 3 years and i'm entering the same bios administrator password everyday. My laptop has Aptio BIOS (American Megatrends, AMI).
But today it's not accepting my password. I'm %100 sure i'm entering the correct password.
I'm trying to reset my bios without success.
I tried :
-I removed the BIOS battery and main battery. Waited for a long time but it didn't work. They already stated in the user manual that the password will not be reset even if the batteries... -
