Re: bios dump elitebook 840 g3
HI Thanks Vesko for the file, but it didn't work. CAPS blinked and restarted once or twice but no video, fan runs I don't think it POSTed? (CAPS lock didn't illuminate when CAPS lock key depressed.)
I tried the file on another machine but same thing.
I got another file off the 2nd machine in case the 1st one was corrupted somehow? Thanks.Last edited by SMDFlea; 04-02-2023, 12:22 PM.Comment

Re: bios dump elitebook 840 g3
N-o w-a-y! Now, not that it's impossible for me to make a mistake once in a while, but to be honest I'm a pretty big perfectionist, and making a mistake is a very rare occurrence. The file is 101% unlocked OK, just double checked it, so you are doing some mistake somewhere in the process - compare the content of the chip against the file, check the soldering, check the orientation of the chip at the board, check the surrounding area for blew up components and so on...
Update: "Broke the ice"
I got one to work, I melted some more solder on the belly and gave it a little more heat and it fired up Thanks!Last edited by kudo623; 03-01-2023, 02:13 PM.Comment

by Habble7The Samsung S49CG934SU monitor does not power on - no LED indicator activity and no response to power button. However, when 21V power is connected, it immediately draws 0.8A of current with no display output. The motherboard processor gets warm, and there is continuous reading activity from the W25Q128BV BIOS chip.
Suspected Cause:
I suspect the BIOS may have been corrupted during a power interruption while updating the firmware. The official website provides firmware updates, but they can only be installed via USB flash drive.

by DynaxSCHi, I have an MSI PRO B660M-G DDR4 board with damaged BIOS and i need a bios dump from a real board, along with MAC, UUID and Serial Number info (eg. a BIOS screenshot and pictures from the board stickers).
I need to reconstruct the bios on my board, based on another bios image form a real board - meaning a bios image containing MAC address, UUID and Serial number. A stock BIOS is not suffiecient, as it is impossible to discover where the MAC, UUID and SerialNumber are stored. Tried with a similar board, but there are too much differences, and the stock BIOS is missing a lot of...11-17-2023, 10:56 AM -
by GuestHello,
I have an EliteBook 850 G5. After a Windows update, including a BIOS update, the notebook turns on, but the screen remains black, and the fans spin at high speed—nothing else happens.
I assume the BIOS update failed, so I searched for the BIOS chip.
I found a Winbond chip located between the RAM and the hard drive, which has a size of 32 MB.
However, the BIOS update available on HP's website is only 17 MB in size. I used the update version that was previously installed when the notebook was still working.
Can the corrupted...-

by grimacelordThis laptop is the same laptop I was working on in this thread and I wasn't sure if I should post a new topic or post in that thread because I already solved the issue that thread was discussing and this is a completely different issue although it is dealing with the same laptop. I decided to make a new thread since it's a new issue, but please move if I made a mistake.

by DynaxSCHi,
I need a BIOS dump for MSI Z590 PRO WIFI from a real physical board, along with MAC address and serial no.
It must be a dump from a physical board, as it contains personalized data eg. MAC Address, UUID, Serial no.
I have a board which has lost the BIOS contents, I have the MAC and serial to this board, and need to insert it into the another BIOS image. To do it, I need to have a real image from a real board, as the images from the MSI site are without this data. The only way to find where MAC/UUID/Serial is located in the BIOS is to have a bios...-
