Re: Alienware M14x R2 with 7 beeps error
as i said pin 4 of q26 is low. ih should be 17-18 volt like on q27.
2 reason: or r270 is bad or q26 is bad.
u can try:
1) replace r270 with 102k resistor
2) remove q26 and see if pin 4 get 17 volt and pin 1-2-3 get 5 volt.Comment

Re: Alienware M14x R2 with 7 beeps error
With R270 resistor in the circuit, it is 39.3k ohms, when I test the original resistor out of circuit it is 101.6k ohms which is good.
Is this resistor ok? Should I put the replacment 100.2k ohm resistor in or put the original 101.6k ohm resistor back on??Comment

What do you think of this rework station, it is in my budget and has temperature control and attachments.

however, this device does not seem stable and powerful.
If you always need a hot air rework station, buy some decent station like these ones:
Gordak-952 or BK-601D
or buy a used station. they should be cheap.Comment

put back the old resistor and remove q26 and see if pin 4 get 17 volts after q26 is removed. if yes, replace q26.Comment

Re: Alienware M14x R2 with 7 beeps error
Good news, I asked a local micro solder repairer guy (that runs his business from home) if I could use his rework station free of charge and he said yes I could :-) I went there today, I replaced R270 properly with it's original resistor and removed Q26 from the board, pad 4 of Q26 now gets 18V as it should and R270 gets around 99k ohms across, now I have to find a replacement for Q26 and hopefully that will fix the +5VS line :-)Comment

Hi all.i have problem with my alienware 15 r2.basically its keep beeping 4 times at startup-what means there is ram issue.i already tried 10 different ram sticks with different speeds and voltages but nothing helps.tried to flash bios to see if that will help-but no luck.
Ram sockets looks fine as well, cleaned them and carefully inspected
So maybe someone had this problem as well with any of dell laptops and have some ideas what else i can do?

by tech_guruHello.
I am having a disappointing motherboard repair with this laptop and I need your help.
This came in with water damage, doing absolutely nothing, and had almost all standby voltages shorted. I have already replaced all those shorted components:
-UE5 SIO KB9022QD - Programmed spare one, when replaced, 3.3v short got out
-PQ102 MDV1525URH
-U17 AOZ1331
-UE1 C8051F383-GQ
-PU800 SY8032ABC
-UI2 SY6288D20AAC
-PU508 RT6220AHGQUF 7P=
-PU100 TPS51225CRUKR
-PU300 TPS51212DSCR
Now, I get all the standby voltages, it turns... -
by zwectI have this Alienware 17 laptop with the VAS00 LA-9331P REV 1.0 motherboard that does not turn on anything when power is plugged in and gives the 7 beep sequence, CPU / GPU does not heat up, i tried only with an I5 4200M (the laptop did not come with either the GPU or the CPU, but on the back says that it originally came with the Nvidia 860M and an 4710MQ).
While i do not know if there is any CPU blacklisting system on the motherboard, i tried reflashing the BIOS (at UH14) and the EC (at U2) accordingly but no changes either.
PCH doesn't seem to be shorted but i haven't done... -
by Superbee_dadHello Sharp TV experts
Our Sharp LC-80LE642U displays one short one long flash error code which is a backlight error. I went into service mode and there were 8 lamp error counts recorded. I reset the count to 0 and did a reset. The last monitor error cause was 16 B00014639:12. 16 is the code for backlight error. I tried to power the tv up but went back into error mode.
