I'm running into problems, first was the wires, now it's the caps leads length, and width. I need a cap with 10mm lead length, and also that same 10mm lead spacing. I Don't want to cut the board slots to make thes caps fit. They have the 10mm length, but only 5 mm spacing. What would you do. I'm thinking about just putting the old caps back in. I'll post a pic of the two caps. See what you think.
What about cutting the old cap at the very bottom off and use it as an “adapter” and solder the new cap on to that? Looks silly but it works. On old ham radio restorations, forks gut the old cap and put a new cap inside in order to keep that vintage look. I think the diameter between new and old is the same, but the length is different. So you got 3 choices.
A: put the old caps in and wait for them to fail
B: put the cap in I showed you
C: cut the bottom off the old cap and use it as an adapter for the new one you got.

I was thinking about trimming the leads on the inside, taking about 1.5mm off each blade. That would give me the 10mm I need for the spacing. Those blades are about 4mm wide each. Leaving a good 2mm for each side. More than a regular snap in lead thickness, which is about 1.5 mm per lead. Could that be a possibility?

Never hurts to try if you are feeling up to it. You can always buy the other ones as a last resort.

Yea, the ones you found are perfect, but a little pricy. $30.00 each. That's a little more than I want to spend now, but an excellent choice. I can't under stand why there are not more out there. MOUSER only had the ones I have. Who knows. I'm going to cut those blades to fit the slots in the board. I cut the leads, successfully.

Well back from vacation, had a little scare with my eye's. I thought I tore my retina, thank God I didn't. Vision is all ok. I have what they call floaters, crossing my vision path. It's a pain in the ass. But should get better with time they say. I have those two caps to put in, and I'll test the amp at that point. Thanks for your patience guys.Hope you're all have a great summer so far.

Those floaters are annoying, but they should go after a while. You get some eye drops or anything?

No, my eye Dr. didn't give me anything for them? Said they will eventually fall out of my vision path. You ever have them? They definately suck, that's for sure.

No, I don’t have them, but others I know did have it. The doc gave them eye drops. Our docs are very prescription happy.

No eye drops. He said that they will eventually fall out of my vision path, they are on the side, so I really don't notice much. Did they eventually go away with the people you know. They are extremely annoying though. I'M not to strain my eyes for a few weeks so, I'll get back to the amp soon. Just have those two caps to put in. Then test time. We need some rain over here, if ya got any extra send it my way.

Covid? Now? When I had Covid I had that cough for 3 months including antibiotics. That was the longest time I’ve ever had a cough. I couldn’t shake it without pills. Hopefully you recover faster than I did.

No clot shot for me either, shot of jack seemed to help with my sleep. Been good for a few days now, still tired, want to get back to amp in a week or so. Not much to do but those main filter caps, then test!

Hi, I'm seeing one 9V relay having temperature 40C on its 9V (primary) side. Does that seem right? I switched 2 relays on that board and the temperature was the same (on the same position), so I'm sure it's not a faulty relay. I measured voltage on that relay and it was 9.5V DC, so that looks good. I don't see any other relay on that board having that kind of temperature and they have 9V on them too.
I thought maybe the transistor that is switching this relay keeps switching on/off, so I also checked for AC and there was almost none: 0.3V using mV range. No steady frequency was shown, but...

I have this board that suddenly stopped supplying power to an output that drives an interchanger cleaner motor.
I checked while the board was in place with all wires attached and there's no AC voltage on the corresponding plug X5
This X5 is driven by fuse F8 (tested OK) which comes from the second orange relay
To make sure there are no charcoaled contacts inside the relay, I got a 24VDC power supply and got it ready to manually power up the coil side of these relays.
I respected the polarity, positive to cathode of protecting diode

I was working on this CNC machine today found no keyboard functioning no control relay powering on

I bought a Kenwood KR-6030 vintage stereo. It need work and so I thought I would recap the thing since I get power to the on switch but nothing else is working. No lights, no sound and so forth. I went to Mouser to order caps and I find I am way over my head. I not only do not know the type of capacitors I need but Mouser and digikey do not accept Kenwood part numbers. I have the info such as 220uF 63v and such but no place to put it. I could buy a recap...

                                        Hello everyone!

Recently I've noticed that some ShopJimmy backlight strips don't have double-sided tape installed upon them when an application calls for it, and I must purchase the tape separately. In a recent chat conversation with a customer service agent I told them if this tape wasn't applied when it was called for I would begin to consider ordering my backlight strips elsewhere. It looks like this time may have come.
