    shopjimmy.com?

Has anyone bought anything from shopjimmy.com?

I need a inverter board for a Philips T.V, since my thread is dead with no response from anybody, even after the fact that I've removed the jumper wire for the protection circuit essentially bypassing it and got the T.V to stay on and ran 20 minutes before I turned it off. I don't know what's causing the protection circuit to trip.

I'm at the end of my rope, and I can get another inverter for $28+shipping

If anyone is curious thread is here:

I've bought some stuff from them in the past, no issues at all.

I bought many from him when he started the businees in the early day of Flay screen repair parts. No problems at all, all the boards I bought work. He is one of my main source for replacement boards.

I have used many boards from Shopjimmy, all have been good. Before you order, refer back to your original thread. I have posted something there that may help you.

the dude just spammed the thread... ("loud booing")

Offering good support via forums is very uncommon and a real nice touch IMO!

I'm confused too, unless you remove something from that post.

I don't get it. Unless I'm missing something obvious, what he did was a nice touch of customer service.

Lol it took me a while to understand why shopjimmy would put a picture of spam on his message after offering support. Then I realised it was edited

I'm sure that Mr shopjimmy will speak to top cat and offer a forum members discount for us.

I did not know that some one else can edit the other people post! I do not think that should be allowed. It will be nice to get discount from Shopjimmy.

I agree, I could see it that way if he just posted a thread unsolicited, but joining and giving feedback on someone asking about his business is quite different.

The title of the thread contains their site, shopjimmy.com. The shopjimmy guy joined a forum just to answer a question. That's spectacular customer service.

Power Inverter Replacement Circuit Board Question?
                                          by jdbird613
So my Ampeak 2000 watt power inverter will receive power from a 12 volt source, and also has a display screen that displays how many volts the inverter is currently using...However, the plug outputs are not producing any power outward...The display screen on the inverter also shows how many volts an item that is plugged in is currently using...Which stays at 0 and no items will power on...I opened the inverter casing and discovered there is some charring and burned areas on one end of the circuit board...What I am trying to figure out is if I can purchase/obtain a new board exactly like the board...

                                          Hi friends of electronics

What you see in the video and pictures attached is the circuit for charging the batteries of a DC motor.

The problem is that this circuit cannot charge the batteries (3 1800mAH NiMH batteries) any more. When the circuit was OK, its green LEDs lit up one at a time to show that the batteries have charged more. But now that the circuit is flawed, LEDs light up as you see in the video and at the same time successive beeps are heard.

Please help me fix this circuit.

Vizio E55-E1 bad backlights or bad inverter?
                                          by x_orange90_x
I just got this tv today and it appeared to have no backlight on. After taking off the rear cover and checking again in the dark I can see that MAYBE one quadrant is lit.. But still it's quite dim. I was going to check the LEDs with my tester, and I found LED 1 and LED 2 + pins on the wire from the inverter, but I couldn't identify a ground. Nonetheless I tried using a mounting screw on the inverter board and also the chassis as ground but regardless my tester reads 300 which is what it reads when there is no voltage draw.

I don't know how exactly to test the inverter itself. Is it...

                                          Short Circuit tester

                                          Hello.
I have seen a short circuit tester made with 3 * 9V batteries, a voltage limiter component and a resistor connected to the probes of a multimeter.
The theory is that the meter becomes sensitive enough to read very low resistances and the lowest resistance to ground on a circuit is likely to be a short circuit in that area.
