As long as it's not as fluky as the Ricoh Color Laser AIO I bought used for my Church. It works but is quirky... and makes an annoying stamping noise. They have a very old Konica B&W like this one, but it's one that was leased somehow (nobody remembers how it worked out). Had I found one at the right price, I would have gotten it for them and not bothered with the single tray wannabe I got them instead. Hope you find a buyer... if not, enjoy!
My employer has a bunch of Konica ones like this too (recently upgraded by the leasing company)... the last one in my office was always...

You mean the SLI bridge?
Just get one the correct height, or use and fold a flexible one. Nothing brand-specific about these....

Re: Topcat's Other Misc Weird Build Thread
Seaburg's are as rare as Hen's teeth. Nice find! And I still use the crap out of mine... hard to believe it's a 14 year old platform.

Re: Workstation Pocket Rocket: Another Ratdude Project?
Due to my hellish work schedule and some technical difficulties I finally got it back to running condition. Posting this from it; I'll edit in some pics in a bit.
Edit- Pic attached. Yes I am still running 7200RPM spinners. Yes I am ashamed. I wonder if the LSI 8708EM2 would play well with SSDs... or maybe a PCIe SSD? This is my only workstation that doesn't run SAS drives......

Re: Workstation Pocket Rocket: Another Ratdude Project?
Don't the 80's run hot and hog a lot of power though? This system doesn't cool the greatest (part of it being a sleeper build). Also, keep in mind I'm running a quasi-custom (again, part of the sleeper build) 600W PSU with twin Xeons. Newer cards have way better performance per watt, which is why I made the decisions I made.
I've only ever had 1 1000 series card (EVGA 1060). And it randomly died on my dad. Based on the number of dead 1060's I saw on eBay, I wasn't feeling said series....

It sure did...
But I'm putting a 2070 in it. Only $20 more! Re: Workstation Pocket Rocket: Another Ratdude Project?

Re: Workstation Pocket Rocket: Another Ratdude Project?
My wife uses this as her daily driver... and the other night, we were awoken at 2AM due to a smoke alarm in it's room. Quickly determined something inside had gone ...
I first tore down the PSU... Delta with stock caps. Nothing obviously awry, passed all testing. But when I pulled the cards, I saw something:
At first I thought I blew a cap on the board, but no, that's not from the board (it wiped off easy enough). Looking on the part of the GPU that sits over that soot spot, sure...Last edited by ratdude747; 08-15-2023, 09:50 PM.

Getting Wifi-6 speeds one room over too!...

Re: best cheap/free scores 1.1
Finally got the settings dialed in... and it's now the main router (but not on the wall, I won't have the brackets for a couple weekends yet). Winner indeed... even if openWRT is a bit of a pain to setup at times....

Re: best cheap/free scores 1.1
Today's Score: Xiaomi AX3600 Wifi-6 (AX) router: $30. Big deal is that it's open-wrt compatible (a rarity with Wifi-6 apparently) and I just got done installing such on it. This one was hardly used (came in box, has more Mandarin than Roman characters!).
It'll likely replace my Netgear Nighthawk R7000 (which in itself was a $25 mega score many years and posts ago), but not until I get some 3D printed brackets from my father in-law to wall mount it where the existing router is (hopefully reusing the same wall anchors). In this case, it's...Last edited by ratdude747; 06-18-2023, 09:11 PM.

I've never had good luck with USB wifi adapters. I thought I mentioned wanting to put a wifi card in it while I was over?...

Whoops... You'd think they'd change the slot keying but no...
Guess I need to read the spec sheets closer next time. Need a model ending in 0, not 1 .
Edit- I found a couple open box 9650's for 7 a pop shipped. Don't need WiFi-6... Edit2: cancelled order, those are also CNVi too. ...Last edited by ratdude747; 06-11-2023, 11:31 AM.

Intel AX201 (Dell) whitelist?
Running into an issue with a build. Adding an Intel Ax201 WiFi card to an itx system with an ASrock j3455-itx board (one of the many Topcat's been refurbishing). Bought 2 used cards for cheap off fleabay... Neither show up (PCIe WiFi or USB Bluetooth).
Both parts of the m2 slot are enabled. But I noticed both have DPNs (Dell part numbers) on the label. I've had issues in the past with Lenovo cards having whitelists (like the laptops themselves)... Has Dell done the same? I used to not have these issues with Dell, but I haven't done a Dell build since Ivy Bridge.
Anybody...

Re: Linux penguin -- Best, comment, rage.
And 13 years (and many life changes) later... I've swapped distros (Been running arch on laptops since 2014 or so, and converted the server to arch earlier this year).
And since then I have in fact stuck with Gnome 3 (what gnome shell became)... Although I kinda miss the old preview version, it was pretty neat and I preferred it to the early production versions of gnome 3. But that was so long ago...
Laptops are dualbooted with windows 10... at least the two that see routine use. I have a few...
