SHARP/BESTBUY LC-50LB481U Need to lower current to led"s

    Morning all,

Have the above model that had the led strips replaced by me. Second set ordered and I need information on how to lower the current to the led"s. I've done this to other sets using current limiting resistors and the sets have been fine for 4 years. The problem is that Sharp barely recognizes this model and bestbuy just wants the set in their shop. The power board:

    715G8095-P01-000-0035(board number)
    pltvfy751aau4/fy751aau4(sticker number)

I traced from the the led socket and it goes to two 8 pin chips. Can't see any current limiting resistors(possibly they are smd's). Hoping maybe someone has gone thru this before with Sharp sets or possibly download a schematic with ideas that will help me.

    Thanks for looking,

    Mykolas

Check tomtech here, he has at least a few where he's done a current mod, this one was the easiest. I don't know if he's done your exact model: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dnTz41ot8-s

Tom's good, here's his fix it playlist those mods are in there, I saw at least 3 for backlight current mods, simple procedure actually and he explains it pretty well: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GrfS...gtd-hcUXG2KjSC

Thank you sir. Great tutorials. Will keep looking for the schematic and apply what I learned here.

        Thanks,

Can I see good clear straight shot of the whole top and bottom sides of the power supply board?

I believe resistance network r8607-r8615 would have to be increased. Am I right about this? Is there any other circuit that would need to be changed at the same time?

              Thanks for any insight,

Looks like mostly they just raise the resister value which lowers the current.

I'm trying not to guess at this point. I've already changed one set of strips and would like to lower the risk of the chance of replacing another.
Anyone have an idea what to change and why?

What page of the service you ref those resistors to?
                    Page 56? I do not see R8607 ~ 8615, that's 9 resistors?
Is LED controller IC U8601 (PF7708AS) used on your board? I would look up the spec sheet on that.

I'm sorry, the resistor network is located on pg. 61.

U8601 is : PF6002AS so far can't find data sheet.

I think there is a bit of confusion here. The schematic is for three different power boards. Page 56 and 58 are for 32" and 43". They basically use the same IC U8601. Page 61 is for the 50". Completely different circuit.

You have two LED strings and two LED controller IC's TPV101AD U805 and U806.
Pin 6 (ISET) is for setting the current for the LED string by adjusting the value of the resistors attached the ISET pin.

Just got this TV replacing 3 bad strips with used ones I had. The default backlight level is labelled TV Brightness and defaults to Brightest (max) after doing a factory reset. Some leds sit in cavities in the chassis so may not get the best heatsinking if floating in the air. I think the combination of these two issues are causing LED failures on this model.

I've added sticky aluminum muffler tape under those open leds. Cut into strips and can attach ends to chassis. But I believe the current reduced is the best option for lasting.
Can't figure out what to change to reduce the current on this circuit.
                                  Could use some direction here.

Plaiyng more with the settings on this tv, backlight level is set under Advanced Picture Settings and most picture modes including stsndard run the backlight at 100% Even low power mode is at 78%. You need to turn off dynamic contrast which is default on to change the backlight level.

                                          Hi there !

I'm having an issue for several weeks with my quite old K70 LUX RGB keyboard. I haven't used it for few months, and once I setup up again my desktop computer, I got several dead LEDs on that keyboard. I tried the Corsair troubleshooting thing (disabling options in iCUE, ...) but nothing changed so I conclude that for some reason some LEDs went in retirement...😅
Decision taken to change these LEDs as I have access to desoldering iron and binocular magnifier, I wrote a ticket to tech support, hopping to obtain the LEDs reference and... They refused to tell me 🙄...

Sharp 70' LEDs Spike 260v at start up?

Hi all. This is my second thread. Have a bunch of questions.

I got my hands on a 70 inch Sharp Aquos LC70EQ10U. Not working when I found it.

I replaced the power board (found in eBay) and the TV finally produced an image. Reset it had image and sound.. Went from 2 slow and 2 fast blinks as a fault code to 1 slow 1 fast fault. Lamps or inverters according to the manual. TV is one now, at this moment (looks great w/ ZERO dark spots on screen) but it powering up and producing an image is unpredictable. 3 out of 10 times.

There are 3 leads to the LEDs....

                                          Good morning bad caps -

I have an Insignia NS55D510NA17 TV that I bought for $20. The there are 50 backlights in the TV and 48 or so are BLUE and this appears to be due to the yellow film/coating breaking down on each individual LED. (See picture; camera picks this up as purple... they are really blue). The LED itself looks to be an exposed die. There is no plastic package for them. I couldn't find much information about the LEDs or a direct discrete replacement either. These come from the LED strip - SVH550AC3_5LED_REV05_150410.

Anyway, I would like to replace...

This tv is with sound but no picture. When light shines on the screen, we can see the image. This is a typical backlight problem. I opened it and found quite a lot of the leds are damaged. But the damaged ones are all shorted. No one is open. Is there a special reason? (From my past experience, both can be happened)

When I supply 3V to each of the good leds, the currents range from 105mA to 154mA. From these figures, I think the leds are 3V and about 0.5W. I plan to replace all the damaged leds only (because the price of the led strips is very expensive), but I could not find 3V 0.5W...

Hi all, Been a while since ive had to use this forum,
I have here a Sharp LC-39LD145K that works fine apart from no power to the backlight LEDs, I have stripped it right down and tested all LEDs and they all work fine, I can see them flash briefly for a split second when powered up, the voltage to them slowly drops away after the flash so im guessing there is an issue with the power board,

I think the model number on that is 17IPS20 and here is some pics of it

Any help on this would be greatly appreciated,

                                          Thanks...
