didnt have a 10uf 50v cap handy for the orange cap, threw a 47uf 50v in there.

Only getting voltage there, only millivolts or 0 volts everywhere else, no voltage on cold side no voltage on any coil or cap except filter cap no voltage on UL1, UL2 or eeprom, maybe problem with transformer?:

oops I lied, there is 170 volts on 2 pins of the transformer on hot side.

For the primary smps ic to operate it first needs vcc voltage, what do you measure on the vcc pin of the ic?

not sure, is that ic on the primary/hot side? I don't see any ic on the hot side.

It is on the primary side. There will be a small driver ic, likely a smd 6 pin, this ic drives a power mosfet that switches the primary of the main transformer to produce the secondary voltages.

Remove the heatsink and you will see UB101 PWM (6pin.).

Thanks gentlemen, any way to verify UB101 is not working, like testing QB101 or DB106? QB101 has 170 v on middle pin, 0 v on the other two, DB106 tests good in diode mode, has 170 v on each end.

would have to remove heatsink to get to it, was hoping there was another way to proof it out.

Do you not have a decent soldering iron?

its an old tv from 2012, theres no value there, was only looking at it for the puzzle factor but really not curious enough to mess with it anymore.

Having a little revisit with this one board pos, think it's bad backlight/s, current situation, tv comes on fine, goes blank screen after about a minute or so, sound still there, passes flashlight test, voltage on big caps is about 164 both when working with picture and when it goes dark, I don't know much about these one board tvs, do you think that it is only suppose to have 164 and not go any higher or is something else wrong other than backlights?

I was given this TV from my great uncle. He said it just wouldn't turn on one day out of nowhere, replaced the TV, and gave it to me to possibly fix and use for myself.

Upon bringing it home and plugging it up, it showed a standby light.

I powered it on and without a flashlight, the display showed the "V" but the lighting is very dim, but visible.

The screen seems to blackout and stay black, but with a flashlight I can see the display.

With my Playstation 4 connected via HDMI, and running a game I can hear sound.

                                            Hi everyone,
I have a strange problem (for me) on an MSI GT70 2PE laptop.
When it's under heavy load, power goes steadily to the battery (for 2 or 3 seconds) then return to the charger. If I remove the battery it turns off.
The higher the load, the lower the voltage on the main rail. We go from 19.5V, PC connected to the charger but turned off (normal consumption of 0.06A)
On, when it draws 2A the voltage is 19.2V, then eventually collapses to 18.5V (and turns off) around 5A.
I removed the first 2 mosfets (PQ13 & 14) from the main rail, without noticeable change....

I wondering if there are some usual faults regarding the PS_ON signal from main board to PSU board?
                                            Where do i start looking?

I have standby light and the PSU is working if i connect 3.3V to the PS_ON pin on the psu board....
