My gut tells me panel failure. The menu shows the same condition.

Re: LG 42LV5400 panel failure or internal board?
Only a guess for me but don't think it is panel. Lines look like they go across full screen. Usually panel is only on part of the screen.I assume no responsibility for any stupid suggestions I might post.Comment

i'll put a vote in for main board. looks too even to be panel to me, but it is only my guess.
you will always be able to isolate it a bit more by disconnecting one side of the t-con and see if the fault changes at all.WHY CAN'T PHILIPS USE PHILLIPS HEAD SCREWS?Comment

check lvds cable...reinsert it or apply wd40 to both connectors..this will fix this problem.if not then motherboard is suspectComment

Re: LG 42LV5400 panel failure or internal board?
Hi,
Your symptom looks a little like the issue I had with a 42LV5500.
Here is my post.

I didn't believe that baking the main board in the oven would fix the problem but the tv is working for well over 1 year.
Good luck - I bet it's a main board issue.

Well, seems like that's what it was. A shame this thing doesn't have Wifi. Would any USB wifi dongle work or does it have to be an LG branded one?Comment

Vizio e601i-A3 - Has Sound and Display, But No Backlight - Bad Power Supply Board or Bad LED Bulbs ?by Tynan DillI was given this TV from my great uncle. He said it just wouldn't turn on one day out of nowhere, replaced the TV, and gave it to me to possibly fix and use for myself.
Upon bringing it home and plugging it up, it showed a standby light.
I powered it on and without a flashlight, the display showed the "V" but the lighting is very dim, but visible.
The screen seems to blackout and stay black, but with a flashlight I can see the display.
With my Playstation 4 connected via HDMI, and running a game I can hear sound.

by m1ch43lzmHi, this is my personal laptop, which the original board (lets call it Board A) blew up PU8700 (TPS51486), making a hole on the board, i had left the laptop at my desk one day with the battery fully charged and didn't touch it for a week, but when i tried to turn it on it didn't
Thought the battery was dead, so i plugged in the charger then tried to power on, the power LED blinked once, charged LED still orange, unplugged the charger, plugged in again and I noticed the "magic smoke" smell, so i unplugged the charger, removed the back cover and saw the blown IC (the "magic... -
by advantThis thread is about trying to get an Universal Main Board to work with a Sharp TCON and panel.
I have a Sharp LC-46D85UN TV that has had a main board issue. Since this model is from 2009, I am not able to find an exact replacement of the main board. Instead, I decided to see if I can future proof this tv by getting a Universal Main Board (T53U21.2) from China to work with the Sharp TCON (CPWBX4291TPZA) and panel. The universal main board supports a 8 bit dual channel LVDS interface whereas the TCON requires a 10 bit dual channel LVDS input. I have modded the LVDS connector to match... -
by delpiero3Hi everyone, newcomer in this forum, i watched tons of video from Sorin, i like the way i calmly explain things, i did quite some console repair, i am not that bad at micro-soldering, but troubleshooting where the issue is, is definitely where i still have progress to make. Usually i was able to fix the console because the failure was obvious, or because i was able to find someone with similar measures on the board and was pinpointing what to replace that way.
Nevertheless, let's say, i don't come as a total beginner.
I have this old laptop, which suit perfectly my needs, with the... -
by sam_sam_samI was working on this CNC machine today found no keyboard functioning no control relay powering on
The screen powered on and was giving an operation error but the manual was not very clear about what the error exactly was but with a little bit of troubleshooting and finding out that the control relays not powering on and no keyboard functions we narrowed down to this one switching power supply which of course does not have any indicator LED light they are on the keyboard interface/relay controller board
Found shorted diodes on main controller relays there are 3 of them that... - Loading...
