• I’ve eventually repaired it, although not on my own merits. DRV_OCP1 wasn’t a problem after connecting the LED strips. If you disconnect Main board, the PSU turns on by default and the backlight works at max brightness. The problem arised from DRV_OCP2 after connecting MAIN board. I found a blog (Kent Liew LCD repair) that explained a very similar case with BN44-00472A. He found that the culprit is QQ9101 (MMBTA92, marking 2D or YV, depending on manufacturer), that is responsible of raising DRV_OCP2 protection. My transistor tested normal, but I tried to replace it anyway. Now it works!

• I’m stuck in the same place. In my case, it’s a very similar BN44-00471A from a UE26D4003BW (I’m actually using schematic for BN44-00472A and I’ve found minimal differences). All voltages fall every second. I disconnected all supply to the backlight driver and then it turns on without problem (A5V, B5V, B13V OK). But as soon as I power the backlight and I connect DRV_OCP1 (without LED strips connected), the problem comes again. It seems that IC SEM5025 rises FAIL pin to 5V every two seconds, and I still haven’t found anything bad or shorted. Checked all MLCC around it.

I'm in the same boat with a similar DesignJet Z5600ps. The original Seagate ST500LT012 is dead in a bad sense.

I downloaded firmware package (almost 1GB) and found that this file is actually a .TAR.GZ containing these files:

CONTENTS
PUMA_04_01_00.1.unsigned.fmw
PUMA_04_01_00.1.unsigned.fmw.sig

.fmw file is compressed or encrypted. I'm stuck here.

Thank you.

Additionally, from this information I’ve found that the other one (marked GoEAX) is a RY9330DP8.

Now I'm trying to identify a buck DC-DC IC, SOIC-8 package (I think no exposed pad), pin 2 is input, pin 3 is output SW, pin 4 is GND, and marking is GMDAE in large letters, nothing else. Possibly chinese. If that helps, there's another buck IC in the same board with same package, pinout and letter style, and marking is GoEAX, possibly same manufacturer.Re: IC Marking Codes and Datasheets #2

Wrong, because picture shows a SOT23-8, and this one is a SOT23-6. Also, top marking in picture is ACM and this one is AGM.
Then, it's a MPS MP3414DJ.Re: IC Marking Codes and Datasheets #2

I've found a SOT23-6 with marking |AZEM that looks like MPS made, but it's not in your list. Any idea?

It's in the secondary side of a Chicony USB-C laptop charger (A18-045N1A).Re: IC Marking Codes and Datasheets #2

Never thought about this, but today I’ve opened a Samsung UE40J5200AWXXC with bluish backlight. The first surprise is to find some LED totally blue, while others are still perfectly valid white. When looking carefuly, I’ve found several yellowish tiny squares (about 1.5mm side) fallen inside the backlight chassis. These squares glow white when exposed to blue LED light, and if I put one of these squares in front of the blue LED, it turns white! So, in this case, the failure is simply that these...

• Re: Removing large LCD panels

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_-cKfX3WmSM

In this video we can see a chinese assembly factory of LCD TV. At minute 10:00 there's a contradictory view: first, a worker grabs a large LCD cell by hand and places it over a light table for testing, and after that, a machine with about 12 computer controlled small suction cups moves the cell over a pre-mounted backlight. Before that, it rotates 90 degrees to let a worker peel a protective sheet.

In attached picture we can see a cheap chinese tool with simple suction...

• Re: Removing large LCD panels

I thought that my method of disassembling the panel with LCD screen looking down laying on the table was safe, until today. It’s very safe for disassembling, but reassembly can be catastrophic, because you don’t see how the LCD glass aligns with the backlight chassis guides. This is what has happened to a Samsung UE48JU6060K with a LSF480FN05-K04 LCD cell (attached image). When reassembling the TV, the glass was trapped by the black guide and cracked when pressed against the front bezel. Now that side of the screen is darker and has motion...

• Re: TPV LCD panels - LCD cell correlation

I think that correct name is TPM270WF1-LF3L (REV 02C). Do you have a picture of the label?

There're some Panda cells ending in LF3L02, but none of 27". Closest match is Panda LC270LF3L (1920x1080).

But the only way to know it is to observe actual balance board/T-CON looking for manufacturer part number.Re: TPV LCD panels - LCD cell correlation

• Re: Hisense H58AE6100UK - discolouration and slow load on right side of display

What’s the logic behind this "repair"? If the panel can work with just half of side COFs, why they install the others? They could save some bucks per panel.

No doubt it’s an improvement over initial situation but I’m reluctant to admit that the panel is working "as new".

It's identical to the one I uploaded. Compared with FC /B. How did you compare them?

Also, your replacement IC is Macronix MX25L8005M2C-15G, which is 8Mbit instead of 4Mbit. And it's a SOIC-8 200mil packaging instead of original SOIC-8 150mil. That's quite a Frankenstein that you made! ...

• Re: Philips 60PFL8708S/12 - QFU1.2E LA - Error code 53

When you repair a TV that is not yours, that fine detail about what happened days or minutes before the final failure, or in what circumstances it eventually failed (while on, when turning on, etc.) is usually LOST. Even more if user is not the same person that brings me the TV (or any other appliance). I try to obtain as much information I can from customer/user, because that helps a lot to diagnose, but sometimes I cannot get any useful information other than "it doesn’t work". It’s frustrating......

My Service log is identical to yours (except the very first 32bit hex number, that looks like a boot cycle counter). This determinism lead me to rule out broken CPU solder points, because something like that is not very deterministic, but rather random (broken solders will be in a given zone, but you can’t tell which one will broke first).Re: Philips 60PFL8708S/12 - QFU1.2E LA - Error code 53

But, what caused the first improvement in Maalobs TV? CPU reflow or NAND replacement? Since he did both things at the same time, it wasn’t clear to me which one was the root cause. I admit that I’ve chosen the NAND part first because CPU reflow is out of my reach.

Error 2 / 53.

Thanks Maalobs. I have an XGecu TL866II Plus that can read/write these NANDs, but I don’t have a TSOP-48 adapter, so I’ve prefered to order an already programmed NAND for this chassis.
