    Re: XVT553SV Vizio light flashes orange/white no display

    I will reorganize. I now see there is a small dot on the PCB next to the IC.

    U32 - M11 G5684
    1: 2.256V
    2: 1.1mV
    3: 4.96V
    4: 5.10V
    5: 1.287V
    6: 1.287V
    7: 0.791V
    8: 0.794V

    U2 - M041 G5693
    1: 5.10V
    2: 0.797V
    3: 1.8mV
    4: 0.805V
    5: 4.87V
    6: 1.6mV
    7: 1.816V
    8: 5.10V

    U1 - L451 G5692
    1: 5.10V
    2: 0.799V
    3: 1.4mV
    4: 0.805V
    5: 4.88V
    6: -0.2mV
    7: 2.525V
    8: 5.11V

    U33 - L451 G5692
    1: 5.11V
    2: 0.797V
    3: 1.9mV
    4: 0.802V
    5: 4.88v
    6: 1.9mV
    7: 3.359V
    8: 5.11V

    U10 - 501H1 ? Not sure this one is very small 2 pins on top 3 on bottom and the voltage was changing on the top 2 pins (pin 4&5). It would drop to ~0 and then go to ~3v. I noticed after the tv is on for a while and the logo now stays orange the voltage on these top pins was ~0.
    1: 5.11V
    2: 2.1mV
    3: 5.12V
    4: 3.315V when it had power
    5: 3.17 when it had power

    That should be organized properly now. Thanks for the help. Learning a lot here.

      Attaching picture with U10 shown, since I can't figure out what it is.

        U32
        Vin = 5V Vout = 1.28V

        U2
        Vin = 5v Vout = 1.8V

        U1
        Vin = 5V Vout = 2.5V

        U33
        Vin = 5V Vout = 3.3V

        U10
        No idea without the full number written on it but possibly a reset IC for the main processor

        All the above regulators appear to give sensible outputs and step down the incoming 5V supply.

          I just posted an image of U10. It looks like the top says 50H1M. It's really small. Any ideas what else to test?

          Does it seem odd that U1 and U33 are the same IC with different output voltages?

            No, because they are voltage level changing IC's.

            I really cannot think of anything else but hopefully someone with more experience than me can offer further assistance.

              Re: XVT553SV Vizio light flashes orange/white no display

              Looks like I might be able to determine the correct output voltage by trying to determine which resistors are connected to the FB pin. The datasheet for the G5692 says VOUT = 0.8V x (1+ R1/R2). Now to try and figure out what those resistors are on the PCB.

              Thanks for the input.

                Does anyone have access to the schematics for these PCBs?

                  budm do you have any more input? I think I might have hit the XVT553SV wall. I have yet to find a thread on here where someone actually fixed one without replacing a board.

                    Not at this point, even with diagram it will still be difficult, it may not even be hardware problem.

                      Thanks for replying. I was afraid this would be the outcome.

                        I wanted to follow up on this for the people who are in the same boat. I ended up sending the main board off to Ernesto's Electronics and he was able to repair the board for $75. I put it back in the TV a couple days ago and it has been working great. I am still waiting to see if he replies with what the issue was. It looked like he might have replaced multiple voltage regulators, but it's hard to tell with the tiny solder pads.

                        Another option for those that have narrowed it down to a bad main board on a XVT553SV or similar.

                          I had this Tv in my shop and it had the blinking vizio logo. After about 2 minutes it would stop and then I hit the power button on the Tv and the backlights came up but shut back down after about 2 minutes and then back to the flashing logo. I sent the Main board to Coppell Tv in Coppell Texas and they rebuilt it and had a fast turnaround for $69.95. They always do good work too. Just another lead. www.copplelltvrepair.com

                            Do we have any conclusions on this issue?

                              Having the same issue. Sent the mainboard in for repairs but I still get the blinking orange/white LED. Anyone else?
