  • Re: samsung tv ue43ru7400u dark screen problem help

Most likely you have a short in the backlight bars since this is a edge lit Tv. Alot of times is actually melts the diffuser and will leave light bleed on the bottom where the leds got too hot after you replace the led bars and you can't buy new diffusers so is it worth repairing? Not on that size Tv. You have to pull the panel just to get to the backlights and if the diffuser is melted there is no use in replacing them because they are just going to leave light bleed across the bottom of the panel which looks like crap. Samsung...

  • Re: Vizio E550i-b2e no standby voltage

A common problem I saw on this power supply was bad solder joints on connector CN202. Use a desolder pump to remove all the old solder on all the pins, clean them up with isopropyl alcohol and apply fresh solder to all the pins. Before you re-install loosen the screws on the led driver board and pull that board up to meet up with the pins correctly before you slide it in place keeping two fingers pinching the two connectors together so it takes the stress off your fresh solder joints. Then tighten all the screws down.

  • Re: Defective ShopJimmy LED Strips?

I've always had good luck with shopjimmy's backlights but I do know this model has a history of bad backlights so I feel it's a case of cheaply designed backlights. If you own this model make sure it's not on Vivid and bring the backlights down as low as you can tolerate. It's one of those models that I give the customers a heads up on before they fork out $300 every 2 years on a backlight repair.

  • Re: Samsung UN55MU6290 Boot loop

My guess is a short on the lower panel driver boards. Check all resistors, diodes, and caps especially on the board all the way on the left facing the back. Unhook one ribbon cable at a time and see if it stops boot looping. If it does you found which side your short is on. The MU series is notorious for having shorts on the panel driver boards. Samsung's quality has gone down hill since 2017.

  • Re: Samsung QLED TV disassembly....impossible?

Samsung quality has really gone down hill since the MU series and and the newer models are designed to fail prematurely and engineered to make it harder to repair even for seasoned technicians. The video is a panel repair facility with very expensive panel repair laser soldering machines that are not at our disposal but it does give you a example on how panels can be repaired when tab bonds are damaged. On the bezeless designed tv's the bottom of the panel fits down into a thin bezel and the other 3 sides use a wide strip of 3M two...

  • Re: Vizio main board conversion (E60-C3 to D650i-C3)

Although I never recommend using a different main from a different model since they are designed to be used with a particular tcon and panel especially on a customer's Tv but if it's your own it's a risk but you might get results, just not what your expecting. My guess is the BIT setting may be different in the service menu. Just make sure you write down the current setting in case you need to change it back. Could be 6, 8, or 10 BIT. Good luck.

Samsung quality has really gone down hill since the MU series and and the newer models are designed to fail prematurely and engineered to make it harder to repair even for seasoned technicians. Look the power supply where the led connector is. Look for + and - and look for voltages that are all the same. If any are lower or higher you have a short.

  • Re: Samsung admits it uses a Tv Block App

Samsung is used to being in court on corruption charges. We have had alot of Tv's come in with complaints that the Tv quit working after a Samsung software version update. At first we wondered why, then it turned to suspicion a few months ago and then Samsung admitted to it last week. Now you know the rotten truth all you loyal Samsung owners. They might look good but they are designed to fail prematurely now....

Just Google it. They are currently using it to disable Tv's stolen in a huge warehouse in South Africa looting spree. They can brick your Tv anytime they want with a simple software update. Typical Asian corruption to the core.

  • Samsung admits it uses a Tv Block App

Just another reason why NOT TO buy a Samsung Tv. It connects with Samsung servers and the minute you connect to the internet they can remotely disable your Tv by bricking the software. How low can you go Samsung? They will do this shortly after the warranty is over so be ready for it if your on their hit list. I'll never recommend them ever....period. Low life dirty deal.

  • Re: samsung NU7100f - audio no video

When you look at the replacement led bars that shopjimmy sells as the same part number are not the OEM Samsung rectangular 3030 style. SJ's are square and do not disperse the light into the diffuser the same way leaving a darker top of panel. I blame SJ for not insisting on getting OEM led bar's instead of the crap they are selling with bad results. You can't ever get Led strips or bar's through Encompass either which really sucks. The NU series is off our led bar replacement do to this problem as well as the bezel from hell removal. It's too...

  • Re: XBR-65X750D Main Board Help!!

It's becoming to be more difficult to find shorts and underlying problems on Sony main boards. See if you can find a replacement at a reasonable price. Also find a ESD safe surface to work on your circuit boards vs. the carpet you have it laying on. Some carpet materials hold alot of ESD.

Most of the problems we are finding is diodes. We save them from donor boards from cracked panel tv's because they are hard to get. Samsung is hogging them all up. I use

I've had good luck using these when you can get them. Samsung's going through them like M & M's and now they are hard to get.

  • Re: Samsung UN55KS800DFXZA Ver. AA02 with the seemingly common power cycling problem

Great call Nick's and Kilroy. We are starting to see alot of these coming in lately and finding mostly diode issues on the lower driver panel boards. In some cases it will also be bad resistors and caps but these diodes are usually the culprit. I isolate the rest of the components when removing them with kapton tape and flood them with solder for easy removal, clean the pads, and reapply with new or diodes from tv's with cracked panels. Pain in the ass Samsung. Your really starting to suck.

  • Re: Samsung UN65RU8000F reboot loop

Take a look at any diodes in that area as well. Samsung has stooped to a new low and put cheap chinese caps and diodes on those boards and will short out in a New York second. So cheap that the diodes have no markings. Getting to be Hisense and TCL quality lately. Better keep them unplugged until you want to watch them and never when lightning is near.

  • Re: Black screen w/sound. Samsung QN75Q7FAMF

If your getting 13V on pins 3,5,7,9 and your backlights are staying on you have a bad main board, one connect, or bad panel. unhook the one connect and see if you have any lines. you should see a clear message to connect the one connect box. unhook one ribbon cable going to panel at a time. See if picture looks clear on one side that is hooked up. If your still seeing lines it may be a defective panel. Take it to a qualified technician for proper diagnostics.

  • Re: Samsung stooping to a new low

90% of these were on surge protectors(Made in China) and we only run 120V 60hz. here. New home construction code in many area's now require surge protection at the panel. You don't know how lucky your market is to get a 5 year warranty. We get 1 stinking year and you can bet it's ready for a bad backlight or surge damage coming up with the newer models. And they used to use power supplies that were compatible with many models. Now they have one power supply and one main video board for just that model only. The edge lit backlight repairs can reveal...
